The cottage is located on a paved road. Across the road forms part of the Bruce Peninsula National Park. It is a 12 km bike ride to Tobermory. The scenic Village of Tobermory is located 13 km away. Take a trip into town and stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true. Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment, or the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron are available a 15 minute drive away.

At the water's edge the shoreline consists of some flat limestone rock with rubble. The water gets deep fairly quickly.
