Located less than a 5 minute drive from the airport and only 15-20 minutes to the marina, Tiny Mason Apartments are in a desirable location for many reasons. Just one street over from Frederica, this Westfort gem is a short drive to any number of Thunder Bay attractions.
This open concept apartment features a full, modern kitchen with everything you need to cook delicious meals. The view isn't stellar, you look out onto the roof of the next building, however you can see the old Fort William elevator which is pretty neat. The living room is spacious, and each bedroom is furnished with comfortable beds and reading lamps. The high quality linens in the bedrooms and bathrooms will make you feel at home. For those using the app, each bedroom has a queen sized bed, the common area has a couch that can be slept on as well as a camper cot. (The camper cot is described in the listing as a hammock, as there were no other options.) Additionally for families with little ones we have a high chair, as well as a pack n play playpen with basinette and change station attachments.
There is a parking lot behind the building, as well as common area laundry at no charge on the main floor just as you come inside.
If there is something you need during your stay, we live on the main floor of the building and are usually not too far away if we have gone out. We do keep a number of commonly forgotten travel items on site, including tooth brushes, razors, combs, shower louffas, and tooth paste. These items can be received complimentary if you have forgotten to pack yours.
We strive to obtain a 5 star rating. We ask all our guests to please give us a chance to improve things during your stay if there is something that we can change. We would rather make necessary changes during your stay than to receive a review of lower than 5 stars. We take feedback very seriously, implementing suggestions wherever possible. To date we have added umbrellas to each unit as well as softer pillows to be changed out for those guests who prefer a less rigid sleep. Our neighbourhood is very eclectic. We have some really awesome places to see and visit, and like any city there are a few places that you might want to avoid if possible. Being off the beaten path (we are one street away from a Main thoroughfare in Thunder Bay in a semi industrial area), we appreciate easy access to amenities, but enjoy a quieter street when the work day is done. Building is located across from railroad, however the building is spray foamed, has energy efficient windows and sound dampening insulation.
Public transit can be found just one street over on Frederica, or on Brown St which is literally just a building over. The mainline bus will take you right down to the marina, Intercity Shopping Centre and many great attractions along the way. Access to the highway is easy by heading up Gore to Neebing and then out to highway 61.
Each bedroom has a queen sized bed. Also available for sleeping is the couch, or a camping cot. The common area hallway is still being finished, just some carpet and trim to finish up. It is kept clean and is safe to use. There is also a play pen with basinette and change table attachment for those families looking to stay.
Free wi-fi is included, passwords are available at the time of check-in. Check-in time is after 4pm. Check-out by 11am. Free laundry available on site, all you need is your own laundry soap and dryer sheets. Smoking and drugs are strictly prohibited from occurring on the property. Anyone found to be smoking in the building or doing drugs on the property will be evicted without notice and will not receive a refund. Bookings can only be approved with all guests names sent during inquiry and an explanation of what you are coming to Thunder Bay for. This is to ensure that guests fit with our overall atmosphere.
