Your apartment is a newly renovated first floor unit attached to an old country house on a 1.2 acre private lot; a perfect location - we are on an easily accessible major road in a rural setting near wilderness AND 5-10 minutes from downtown Gatineau & Ottawa.
The space has been totally renovated this year and has: hardwood floors; high speed wi-fi; 3 fully furnished bedrooms; a sunny living room with a wood stove; a well-equipped kitchen & eating area; a dining room space; a full bathroom; a sizeable entryway, great for secure storage.
In keeping with the history of the original 1925 house, we have decorated in an updated country folk style - we want you to feel surrounded by beauty. We bought the property in January & are lovingly transforming it back to its original charm. The apartment is at the back of the main house, with its own private entrance & outdoor space.
Your space has a full kitchen, with amenities including: double sink, stovetop & oven, microwave, fridge & freezer, dishwasher, & plenty of cookware to make a feast.
We provide all your bed linens, extra blankets, & bathroom towels/facecloths. There is a 32" flat screen HDTV, board games, kids toys, books for all ages, throw blankets & logs for the wood stove, for your time indoors. Smoking allowed only outside.
The living room looks out to the backyard seating area & picnic table - you can relax & watch your kids play. We have some sports equipment - for badminton, soccer, frisbee, & other ball games. Around the whole property you are surrounded by beautiful gardens - in the growing season, you have colourful blooms & edible herbs! In the fall season, it is a gorgeous display of fall colours! In winter, we are 10min. to skiing.
Upon arrival, you will meet Tom, our on-site caretaker who lives in a separate unit - he will give you your keys & can help you get settled. Pets are welcome.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms:
1) The queen size bedroom is a calm, private space, decorated in light earth tones. Hardwood floors, cathedral ceiling, an antique mirror, lovely lighting, plenty of storage and double french doors onto the livingroom space create a feeling of comfort and elegance.
2) The double size bedroom is a charming room with a beautiful south-facing garden view. The room has a modern feel while also celebrating and reflecting the garden flowers just outside. Hardwood floors, cathedral ceiling, a dresser with an oval mirror, an antique pipe bed, built in bookshelves and an doorway to the kitchen make this a welcoming space.
3) The single size bedroom is a calm green oasis, with hardwood floors, a gorgeous antique dresser with an oval mirror, a closet, and a light-filled window view of the garden as seen through climbing vines. A door to the kitchen and a full length mirror complete the country charm.
