Interaction with Guests
We respect our guests' privacy but are always happy to share the 'inside scoop' on neat things to do around here. We want to make sure you have a terrific time in this beautiful place we call home.
BY CAR We are a 40 minute ferry ride from Vancouver. From the Langdale ferry terminal, our property is 20 minutes away by car. Just follow highway 101 until you get to the lights at Roberts Creek Road (at this point you're almost there). Turn left and after about 1km, Emery Rd will be on the left. If you get to a 3 way stop (the famous Gumboot Cafe will be on your immediate right if this happens) you've gone about 30 meters too far! Once on Emery, go straight up what looks like a gravel road. Our house is the first one you see on the right.
BY PUBLIC TRANSIT From Vancouver Airport:
Walk to the Skytrain-platform sign CANADA LINE TO WATERFRONT
Get off at VANCOUVER CITY CENTRE
Walk about 1 min to bus stop WB w Georgia St FS Granville
- Take the 250 or the 257 bus to HORSESHOE BAY Ferry Terminal
- Take the ferry to LANGDALE Ferry Terminal (it’s a 40 min ferry ride)
Two bus stops are located in the village, just steps away from the suite. 1 heads north toward Sechelt and the other south toward Gibsons (and also back to Langdale ferry terminal for those heading back to Vancouver).
Roberts Creek is a special place. For being so close to Vancouver, it feels so far. "Creekers" are proud people who know the importance of taking time to make a good meal, have a spontaneous chat and stop for a moment to acknowledge an eagle flying overhead. A huge artists community, lots of home galleries, live music events and some good ole guerrilla pieces here and there. The Gumboot Cafe is among the funkiest places to grab a fresh organic coffee, some home sliced pizza, local craft beer, and no shortage of sweet treats and great tunes. The Gumboot Restaurant is for everyone - hot dates, huge families, loud locals - with a well rounded menu, focussing on local and organic ingredients. MELOmania, located between the two Gumboots, is where we all get our guitar strings, drum sticks, and every now and then a vintage Gibson SG might appear hanging on the walls amongst the many electric and acoustic guitars, amps, drum sets, etc. Our community library is run solely by volunteers and feels like a blast from the past, our general store has a bit of everything, including booze, there's the Inside Passage School for Fine Woodworking (!) and of course an excellent health food store.+ More
