On the road side of the cottage is a grassy area, gardens and a patio space with table, chairs and BBQ, so you can cook up the perfect summer meal! The lake side of the cottage is completely natural with only foot paths leading to the lake. At the lake the shoreline has a natural channel which was carved out of the limestone rock during the last Ice Age. The shoreline consists of flat limestone rock which angles into the lake. A dock projects into the channel, but due to lower water levels it is not suitable for docking a boat. The bay is dotted with little islands, shoals and pools. This is a great area to explore with a canoe - and there is a canoe supplied with your stay at the cottage! The cottage is located near the end of a dead end gravel road. The lands on the opposite side of the road form part of Bruce Peninsula National Park. This is a great area for bird watching and quiet walks. The scenic village of Tobermory is located 13 km away. Take time to visit and stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island.
