We spent a week in mid July in this cottage and had a really great time. The place is clean and comfortable and it's the same you see in the pictures. All amenities and equipment were in good working order.
My most favorite times were in the morning, eating breakfast in deck with lake-view. We felt the privacy and comfort of the home. I definitely recommend this cottage if you want to stay relaxed and enjoy feeling lazy! ~ Anonymous
If you've ever been too Muskoka, heard someone tell stories about Muskoka, wish you knew someone who had a cottage in Muskoka - Bay Cottage is the place for you. Miller Island and the Bay Cottage is even better than the photo's or description can reveal. Being there is believing. Our family rented last year and have already booked again this year. The family is wonderful to deal with, every item, every thought, every detail is taken care of. All we needed to do was sit back and enjoy classic island living in Muskoka. Bay Cottage is a classic piece of Muskoka and is in an isolated protected bay that gives the illusion and feeling of being on Lake Muskoka before everyone else learned it was the place to be. Peaceful, tranquil, and just wonderful. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone, although I truly did consider not doing so, but only to ensure availability for when our family wants it! ~ Steve
Our Happy Place
The Bay Cottage is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. The views are amazing and the cottage itself is a lovely comfortable home away from home. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need or want including lots of games and activities for the kids. We look forward to coming back to every year and watching our children make happy memories here. ~ Karen
WOW! The Bay Cottage was the perfect place to host my Australian and American visitors for a women's weekend of fun and relaxation! The cottage was fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed and had a warm, cozy feel to it that made us instantly feel at home. A large collection of games in the screened in porch kept us entertained in the evening, and the canoe and rowboat got us moving around during the day. The scenery was perfect for a morning yoga session on the dock, where we took in all the beauty that Lake Muskoka has to offer. The Smith sisters were incredibly accommodating and ensured that our stay was comfortable....they even offered to give us a life to and from the nearby marina! If you are looking for a private retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city this is the place! ~ Julie
One of our Favorite Places!
There are not many places we go that my two teenagers are willing to sit in the car for more than an hour or two without complaining, and even fewer for a 600 mile drive. A week at the Bay Cottage on Miller Smith Island, however, has them asking for assurances we?ll come back next summer as we load up to return to New York City. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable, and the setting could not have been more relaxing. From the sunrises viewed through the trees, to the sunsets watched from the deck, our days there went by too quickly. Cell phones off, how nice it was to wake up in the morning and go for a swim, read a book, or try our luck at catching a nice Smallmouth Bass or Northern Pike. How fun to spend time with the kids picking blueberries, shooting baskets, watching a movie, or playing a board game on the porch. It is truly a special place, and we look forward to returning for many years. ~ Warren
A Slice of Heaven
This slice of heaven, just far enough from the city, was a wonderful retreat for the whole family. All the comforts of home with nature at the door. The cleverly laid-out accommodations ensured that everyone had space to enjoy favorite activities without disturbing others, whether reading in the sun-filled great room, cards and games on the screened-in porch in the evening, or barbequing on the deck overlooking the lake. The kids had a great time building sand castles on the beach, exploring the woods and picking blueberries. Fishing was superb, the swimming fantastic, and everyone enjoyed discovering the star-filled night sky from the dock. Favourite times included canoe rides in the evening, and quiet reads in the hammock listening to the birds. Wish we could have stayed all summer! ~ Sharon
