Three bedrooms, 1200 square feet, comfortable, clean, rustic, and overlooking the waters of Georgian Bay. It doesn't get much better than this extremely visitor-friendly cottage on the western shores of Colpoy's Bay.
From the fully-equipped kitchen, the living room's comfortable sofa and chairs, dining room, to the large master bedroom that looks out to the shoreline through glass patio doors that exit to the front deck, this cottage will make any renter feel comfortable and well aware they are on the water. There are an additional two bedrooms and three piece bathroom, as well.
The deck outside the master bedroom is only one of several that surround the cottage, allowing renters to select from sunlight or shade at pretty well any time of day, from envigorating sunrise to beautiful sunset. There is enough patio furniture to keep all guests comfortable on these decks. One more deck resides at the waterfront, making it perfect for relaxing and taking in the sounds of the water as well as the view. The water is clear and makes for excellent swimming, however the lake bottom is rocky and water shoes are a practical requirement.
Outside the front of the cottage, the terraced portion of the lot approaches the waterfront with a series of steps. A large grassed area to one side allows for outdoor games, and the remainder of the lot is largely taken up with attractive plants and flowers.
For the boaters and fisher-persons in your group, a government dock and public boat launch is located less than 10 minutes away.
The town of Wiarton is close by - a mere 10 minutes away - and Owen Sound only half an hour. Between these two locations, any supplies, shopping, cinema, and even a drive-in movie theatre are available. Sauble Beach is also only 30 minutes away, for those looking to get to the popular large, sandy beach that waits there. Sauble, of course, also has many attractions for the youngsters staying with you.
Access to the Bruce Trail is not far away from the cottage, and only an hour north lie the town of Tobermory (be sure to visit the Sweet Shoppe!) and The Bruce Peninsula National Park. Anyone seeking a long-overdue reacquaintance with cottage country will find it with ease at the Bayside Retreat.+ More
