Flat Point is a peaceful, private community on the Northwest side of Lopez Island, a few miles south of the ferry and approximately 1.5 miles north of Lopez Village. The cabin is situated a short stroll from the beach. Wetlands behind the cabin are home to otter, heron, ducks, and songbirds. The sandy beach is one of the finest in the islands, offering crabbing, fishing, castle building, and beach-combing. The soft sand and gradual slope make it an ideal beach for children. Enjoy a low tide beach walk heading south to the village or north to Odlin County Park. Launch your kayak from the beach and paddle to nearby Shaw Island for a picnic or explore the shoreline of Canoe Island. The ferry to Friday Harbor passes by the channel marker at the tip of Flat Point. Just to the north there is a county park, Upright Channel Park, which has day use facilities.
Recently renovated, the cabin is contemporary, comfortable and very clean. It is bright and open with large picture windows and high ceilings. There are two bedrooms (queen, bunk beds) and a ¾ bath. The kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware, utensils and appliances; including microwave, toaster, and coffee makers. We supply cotton bedding and towels, paper goods, and most common household necessities. The deck has comfortable chairs and a table for eating and watching the sunset. There is no phone but cell service is usually good. Amenities include a 22” TV/DVD player, speaker dock for mobile music devices, charcoal BBQ, and more. While there is no internet at the cabin, it is available for no charge at the public library in the village.+ More
