The Bears Den is a cabin style house nestled on a hillside in the midst of tall pines and beautiful aspens, just 10 minutes from the historic mining and casino town of Cripple Creek. Enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Pisgah and surrounding mountain ranges from every window. We have made the Den very cozy with its 3 bedrooms, 3 queen sized beds and one queen sofa bed in the living room, 2 baths, a game room, and a back deck with a grill and seating. It has a wood stove in the living room and amazing views. Special touches from Renee and Michael make your romantic getaway or family stay an unforgettable experience.
Did I mention the views? Just imagine sitting on the deck having your morning cup of coffee while soaking up the warm Colorado sunshine and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and trees. This is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. Lots of places for hiking, even just stepping out of the cabin is an amazing place to hike and take in the views.
Located within 5 miles of groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. We are located not far from Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and Manitou Springs/Garden of the Gods. If you’re looking to venture even further, drive 50 miles to Colorado Springs( an hour drive) or 80 miles to Breckenridge (an hour and twenty minutes), a beautiful ski resort town.
The Bears Den highlights one of Colorado's attractions that is often overlooked: the sweetness of mountain life.
The Bears Den is a secluded house/cabin in the mountains near Cripple Creek. Our Den is your home away from home, fully stocked with all necessities. We provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, lots of coffees and tea, board games, books, adult and child coloring books. You can reach us at any time and we are really glad to have you as our guest.
The Cripple Creek area is a secluded and mountainous region rich with wildlife--we have recently seen several foxes, a family of mountain sheep, and a mother black bear with two cubs! Neighbors have reported seeing bobcats. Local ranches feature llamas and horses, and the idyllic quiet of the Rampart Range, with surprise views of Pikes Peak during the short excursions you can make to Colorado Springs, as well as local towns like Florissant, Divide, and Woodland Park. The area between Cripple Creek and Florissant is one of our favorite places because it includes the Fossil Beds National Monument, a green space and reserve of 6000 acres that will never be developed. The park is a very interesting day trip for adults and kids alike, and as you enter Florissant there is even a shop where you can sit and search through shale brought in for your own real fossils (taken from the Monument by careful extraction, the only spot in the US that allows this activity).
We are available for guest contact at any time. There is a lockbox on the door. You will be given a code when you book and will be able to check in by yourself.+ More
