This beautiful, clean and cozy wood paneled cottage is the perfect getaway for your friends and family! Even though this house is 23 miles from Ann Arbor and 60 miles from Detroit, you'll feel like you're in the woods of northern Michigan.
Located on the shores of beautiful, private, spring-fed Sweezy Lake, this cottage has all the comforts of home. Built in the 1950s, this home has been extensively updated through the years but retains its original charm. The first floor features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and a deck overlooking the lake and next door State game area. The lower level has a walkout door from the master bedroom, guest bedroom, laundry and a bathroom with tub. Cook for your guests on the vintage gas stove, sip hot coffee from the Keurig coffee maker, or grill out on the back deck. Cook in the house and dine in the screen shelter on the peninsula below the home. Relax with movies and streaming TV shows on the Roku enabled flatscreen television, or stream to your own devices using the wireless cable internet. Maybe you'd rather unplug and play board games and Trivial Pursuit.
The home has a washer and dryer and a tankless hot water heater, so you and your clothes will stay clean for however long you're here. Work up a sweat paddling our kayaks on the lake or hiking on the nearby trails, or spend the day sledding from the house down to the lake. Warm up next to the gas fireplace in the winter, or gather around the outdoor firepit for s'mores. Stay cool in the summer with the shady tree cover and air conditioners.
With 1,000 square feet of indoor living space and parking for three vehicles, there is more than enough room for your gathering or getaway. The home sleeps 6 comfortably, on two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. That is our limit for the number of guests - we have a limited well and septic system.
We are just 11 miles away from Michigan International Speedway if you're looking for a quiet yet convenient alternative to the overpriced and crowded motels of Brooklyn. Book a summer fishing trip or hunt in the nearby game areas. Sample all 40+ pies at the Napoleon Cafe. Whatever you want from your vacation, you'll find it on the shores of Sweezey Lake!
If you've made it this far into the description, you should know that the rates that VRBO shows as the "average nightly rate" for this rental are often incorrect. They do some fancy math to come up with the lowest looking price possible. Please check the total cost for the dates that you're interested and confirm that you're willing to pay that price. We are not willing to lower our listed rates or rent for less than the specified minimum stay.+ More
