The main unit which you will rent is a three bedroom two bath custom built house in a unique and desirable setting situated near Lake Michigan on five wooded acres. Just nine miles South of Douglas/Saugatuck this home is comfortable and an easy access point to all the region has to offer.
The lower level has a separate entry and is occupied by myself in the summer.
The home is bright and sunny with Anderson wood windows and heated wood floors. There three comfortable well appointed bedrooms upstairs and an additional full size bed, kitchenette and bathroom on the lower level. The Master Bedroom has a queen size sleigh bed and a sliding glass door to the deck, an attached bathroom with a shower and laundry. The second bedroom has two twin beds and the third a full size bed with a small adjoining room with a comfortable futon that can be used as a sofa or an additional bed. If you use the futon please bring a sleeping back a sheet and a pillow as I do not furnish linens for the futon. The futon is most suitable for a child or young adult.
This property provides a great access point to the Michigan Lakeshore and everything it has to offer including beaches, dining and summer events in South Haven and Saugatuck in a comfortable setting.
The home has large windows throughout and is very bright inside during the daytime. The back deck has a comfortable reclining deck chair and a round iron table with chairs and an umbrella.
We have a large back yard with a fire pit and benches, so if you want to stay at home and grill steaks, or make s'mores this is an excellent place.
The home is situated on five acres and has mowed walking trails into the timber. The Glenn Beach is a 5 minute drive and the lake is 6/10 of a mile as the crow flies. Other nearby beaches include Pier Cove, Oval Beach to the North, and to the South there are the beautiful South Haven Beaches The property is very close to several entrances to the Wau-Ke-Na William Erby Smith Nature Preserve which offers access to some breathtaking scenery and undiscovered access to the lake.
There is a lot of wildlife in the area: Whitetail deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, red fox and various species of songbirds can often be seen out the living room window.
There is free wifi internet, a 40" flat screen TV with an antenna and local stations. We also have a DVD player. If you like music there is a nice FIshcher turntable a Rotel receiver with Sansui speakers and a nice collection of LP records.
Keys: You will receive two keys upon check in which is after 4PM if there are parties checking out on the same day you are arriving. If not, the check in time is 3PM. Checkout time is 11AM. Special arrangements for late checkout can only be made upon request after arrival. An additional night will be charged if guests do not checkout by 12PM.
You will be sent an email after booking with directions. WiFi instructions will be given upon arrival.
Cleanliness: Parties agree that the home is in acceptable condition: furnishings are in acceptable condition, the home has been cleaned appropriately, sheets and linens are clean and acceptable, AC and other appliances are in good working order and the home is free of any offensive odors. If you arrive and find the premises in unacceptable condition or that there have been any misrepresentations or omissions then you may elect to cancel your reservation and will be given a full refund.
Occupancy: The maximum occupancy is 6 people for the upstairs . If the occupancy exceeds this level then you will loose your deposit. If you are just renting a room in the upstairs then the occupancy limit is 2 persons.
Parking: We have a two car garage. One controller will be given to you at check in. No more than three vehicles should be on the premises at one time. If you are just renting the upstairs or a room then I will use the garage myself.
Guest Bathroom Shower: The guest bathroom shower is activated by pulling down on the ring on the tub spout (Where the water comes out into the tub).
Gas Range: Use the gas range with caution and make sure all burners are turned off when leaving the property and when not in use. It is sometimes hard to see the flames when the sun is shinning.
Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The water is also on a water softener. The kitchen is equipped with a water fountain hooked up to a Culligan filter. During a drought, the well water may have a sulfur odor. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system.
Noise Levels: Remember this is a residential area so we must respect the local noise ordinances and we value our neighbor as you do.
Pets: We have a no pet policy. Anyone found to violate that policy will be charged for any damages caused by the pet and you will loose your security deposit.
Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection.+ More
