You may never want to go to other parts of the city, since there's so much to see and do right here.
The neighborhood is well-known for being bohemian. In recent years, it has become gentrified. There are a lot of families as well. In any given moment you can walk down the street and see a diverse mix of students, professionals, and tourists all enjoying the neighborhood. Greenwich Village is known for having some of the best pizza in the city. You can sit down and enjoy a slice, or grab a slice and walk to Union Square and enjoy an impromptu show. This area is also known for having some of the best shopping. In addition to walking one block to Fifth Ave. and experiencing all the flagship stores there such as Anthropologie, Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Paul Smith, you will also find some of the best vintage boutiques and thrift stores around.
If you love to walk, the HighLine is very close. You can stroll all the way to 33rd St. and stop at the galleries in Chelsea along the way. The HighLine offers unparalleled views of the city. You can also get off and grab lunch or dinner in the Chelsea Market. At the southern end of the HighLine is the new Whitney Museum of Art. Be sure not to miss this fabulous modern museum while you're here.

The apartment is within easy walking distance of many neighborhoods, including the West Village, the East Village and SoHo. It is in an ideal location for parents visiting children at NYU, Parsons, and FIT. Many students from these schools live close to the apartment and the subway and buses run frequently.
The Union Square subway hub is two blocks away. You can catch trains all over the East side, or you can take the L train to get to the West side.
You can also walk one block to the W. 14th train station. There are several bus lines that are close and make frequent stops.
You can fly in to La Guardia, JFK or Newark. If you would like to take the train, Penn Station is only three subway stops away. Grand Central is close too. There is parking close to the apartment. I can give you information about the best garage. Some even carry seasonal discounts.+ More
