Christie Pits Park in Toronto. Classic parks make wonderful picnicking areas! Christie Pits Park is certainly a classic park, and it features all the best amenities you expect to enjoy at nice parks. A playground will keep young kids busy while older kids enjoy the baseball diamonds and swimming pool. Endless grass carpet makes for the perfect place to spread out a picnic blanket and relax under shade trees for the afternoon.
Stanley Park in Vancouver. Vancouver may be a big city, but it also features beautiful woodlands that you can explore and enjoy. Stanley Park is one of the most popular destinations in the city. Eight million people can’t be wrong, so head to Stanley Park for a wonderful picnic among the trees! After finishing up your sandwiches, you can wander through the paths, bask in the sun on the beaches, hit the water park or try one of the many other equally entertaining activities.
Granville Island, Vancouver. This island in the middle of the city is a wonderful place to get a change of scenery without traveling too far away! The best way to do a picnic in Granville Island is to take a stop at the Public Market for locally-grown goodness. Once you’ve filled your shopping bags with home grown and home baked goodies, head to the water’s edge for a delightful meal on the shoreline.
Darlington Provincial Park, Ontario. If you want to take a nice walk in the fresh air, this is the perfect place to do it. Darlington is a popular place to rollerblade, walk your dog or enjoy the beach. The park is uncrowded and tranquil, so you can generally get a slice of nature all to yourself. There’s no better place to spend time picnicking and relaxing!
Parlee Beach Provincial Park, New Brunswick. This beautiful park is Canada’s warmest place to play in salt water! Enjoy all the fun that the beach offers, from swimming to sports to the variety of staff-led activities. Here, you can picnic or even camp in the great outdoors.
Kayben Farms, Alberta. Not far from Calgary, you’ll find a lovely little family fun centre. Kayben Farms is a real farm, yes, but it also has rides and other fun activities!
