Fall may be busy with the start of school, the beginning of the holiday season and changes to the weather. However, don’t forget to take advantage of this wonderful season with some family fun! Here’s a bucket list of great family activities for fall. How many can you do? Print this up and stick it to your fridge – your kids will love looking forward to each new adventure!

Visit a National Park. Time is running out to use those free 2017 Parks Canada passes! Order yours today and use it to visit Canada national parks all autumn. Your pass should arrive within two weeks, so you shouldn’t have to wait long! A few good parks to check out for fall colours are Banff, Gros Morne and Cape Breton.

Go on a Fall Colours Road Trip. Canada is perhaps the world’s best nation for fall colours, so take advantage of it! There are many places to enjoy the fall colours from Alberta to Prince Edward Island. Why not make it a road trip? The Fundy Coastal Drive is an excellent destination, as is a trip from Niagara Falls to Toronto.

Pick Apples. Fall is apple season! Go to an orchard to pick your own apples. If you can, choose an orchard that allows you to make your own cider as well! You’ll have a sweet reminder of your fun trip all season.

Play with Pumpkins. Carving pumpkins is a classic fall tradition, but you can do so many other things with this versatile gourd! Have fun with pumpkin recipes and crafts, try a new pumpkin soup recipe or make a decoupage leaf collage on a pumpkin for a personal table decoration!

Wander a Corn Maze. This is a fun fall family activity that everyone is sure to enjoy! No matter how old you get, this never goes out of style. Why not make a trip out of it? McMaze at Cedar Fox Farm in St. Andrews West, Ontario is a huge hit, as is the huge maze in Deer Meadows Farm, Manitoba.

Try Your Hand at Canning. Older kids will love helping to prepare canned food for the family, while younger ones will delight in choosing what gets canned. This old-fashioned experience is an essential childhood memory maker!

Donate Food to Your Local Food Bank. Turn your next grocery shopping trip into a lesson about community service. Let everyone select a few cans of food to donate, then drive them over to your local food bank! If you have time, consider volunteering for a few hours as well.
