The Bluenose House is unique on the island because of its location directly by the ocean and its high standard of living. It is a difference in living close to a lake or to reside directly by the ocean with private beach. Compare carefully! We have uploaded pictures and guest pictures on this website for this purpose to see the difference between ocean view and our oceanfront property. House Bluenose is a frame construction built in 2000. It is furnished to suit European tastes and features, for example, 220 Volt transformators, in addition to the local 110 Volts. Except for TV, you'll find everything you need. The high-end kitchen like all closets and floors, typically for Canada, is solid wood and leaves nothing to be desired.

A large porch (2.5m by 30m, safe for toddlers) around the house on three sides allows sunbathing and outdoor living surrounded and protected by maples, birches, and firs. From here, you can enjoy the mild breezes of the Atlantic and the romantic views of island life .

Light in Nova Scotia is much stronger than elsewhere, colors are more brilliant. Lay back and let Nova Scotia enchant you. The coastline is deeply indented by fiords and numerous bays. Cape Breton Island in the north east has a huge lake (Bras d´Or Lake) with crystal clear water and terrific fishing possibilities. People here are still very tight to their traditions: there is always an occasion to listen to Scottish bagpipes and Irish fiddle music and when you are here you can choose among different Scottish events and step classes. In the French Acadian, their inhabitants, although english speaking, enjoy being greeted with a French bon jour.

In fact, along the stunning costal areas you can admire seals, pilot wales, dolphins, eagles, hummingbirds, loons and puffins.

People in Nova Scotia have a very strong relationship to the sea as their main income comes from fishing lobsters. Life on land is very quiet and slow. People here have time, are open and extremely friendly to sailors, as they rarely see some.

Stunning Comfortable House with lot`s of Privacy

You must have seen this house, it is impossible to describe in words. Find aerial videos on their website capebreton vacations We enjoyed 100% privacy and very nice European Style interior (IKEA), solid wood kitchen, maple floors. This is not common on Cape Breton Island. What I need to say: try to find the house listed here as well but BY OWNER... Read More

Ganz Tolles Haus In Wunderschoner Umgebung

Read More

Thank you Christel for your nice review und for your friendship. We are glad that you enjoyed Canada first time in your life , although you grew up by the ocean yourself in a beautiful spot in Northern Germany. You were the first guest in our new renovated Sailor`s Rest House in Arichat on the cliffs of Isle Madame. Thank you that you helped us to get it ready for your warming up. We would love to see you again on Cape Breton Island!

â??herz Was Willst Du Mehr?â?

Wer Ruhe sucht, liegt hier goldrichtig. Read More

â??amazing Holidayâ?

I spend 2 weeks at the house Bluenose and I can highly recommend it. Robert teached me how to sail with those small Trimarans - which was a lot of fun, thanks again! You can also use a kayak and go kayaking, for example to a small island (called Bamboo Island) not too far from the house: And I will guarantee that you see one of those sweet Seals wh... Read More

â??nature, Relax And Sunâ?

We (2 adults and 2 children - 10 and 13) spent 9 fantastic and totally relaxing days in this wonderful location. The house offers enough space for a family of 6 and it is located in a beautiful setting: away from traffic roads, in the nature and only a couple of meters from the water. On the terrace we could relax, enjoy our meals (I was surprised... Read More
