Located in the Ellisville Village of historic Plymouth, Massachusetts just north of the Sagamore Bridge is a lovely piece of property called Briarknoll. This property overlooks the Cape Cod Bay and the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal. Surrounded by 80 acres of conservation land with trails and hiking paths, the five acre lot hosts a large southern colonial home with two, small guest houses and a pool. Built in 2000 with the kitchen remodeled in 2017, with stainless appliance and granite countertops added, guest house #189 features all the amenities one would expect of a quality vacation retreat home. With two bedrooms, and a sleeping loft with an office area and a play area, there is plenty of room for five to live comfortably. The house is carefully decorated to enhance the seaside atmosphere and the screen porch allows for hours of outside evening entertaining. Cathedral ceilings and sky lights in the open kitchen/living room and loft area allow the sun to provide plenty of natural lighting.
A short walk down a path across the street brings one out on the (rocky) beach to spend the day in solitude. Or, if preferred, just minutes away by car one can visit the lovely, sandy Scusset or Plymouth Public Beaches, several golf courses, gift shops, Plimoth Plantation, the Mayflower II (currently away from her berth receiving a full restoration until 2019) and many homes of our forefathers. Cross the Sagamore or Bourne bridge by car or bicycle onto Cape Cod and visit another world. Quaint, historic towns, seaside museums, gift shops and beautiful beaches are but minutes away. If the city is your choice for the day, the guest house is located just one hour south of Boston and one hour east of Providence RI. Briarknoll is located far enough from the center of town to enjoy the peaceful setting of a private home, yet close enough to enjoy the sights of the southeastern coast of Massachusetts.+ More
