This cottage is located at the end of a no-exit street in Southampton and offers lots of living space (1700 sq ft), fenced yard and good privacy. You can easily cycle or drive to everything you want to see and do in the area. With four bedrooms on one level, there is lots of space to spread out when relaxing in this cottage. The living room and separate den both have TVs with satellite receivers and DVD players, as well as plenty of seating. A natural gas fireplace makes this area an enjoyable one. Internet access is available too. There is a woodstove in the kitchen. The best part about this cottage is its wheelchair accessibility. The main door is ramped, the deck to the back yard is ramped and all bedroom doors are extra wide. One of the two bathrooms is also designed for those with mobility issues (not a roll-in). The cottage kitchen comes equipped with a big island for working at and a fridge, stove and microwave. There's lots of cupboard and counter space for food storage and preparation. Its open concept design lets you converse with guests in the dining room while preparing dinner. Patio doors from the dining room lead to the front veranda and yard with its goldfish pond.
The cottage has 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a Queen size bed. The second bedroom has 2 singles, bedroom 3 has a double (there is a cot stored in the closet) and bedroom 4 has a queen. There are two bathrooms, one is a four piece with tub and the other is the accessible one with a 5 ft walk-in shower unit, an electric fireplace and washer/dryer. Accessed from the den, the backyard deck features a 7-person hot tub, table and chairs for five and four additional chairs for extra seating. A propane BBQ is located on the back deck too. The large grassy yard is fully fenced for your children's or dog's protection and there is a kit for setting up both volleyball or badminton. Roast some marshmallows around the fire pit at night while counting the stars in the sky and reconnecting with nature. The closest sand beach is the public beach at the foot of High Street, about 2 km away. The cottage is also conveniently located near the road to Sauble Beach. In Southampton, you are cycling or driving distance to the Bruce County Museum, Fairy Lake, or the Southampton Market. Additionally, you can drive or cycle to the Chantry Island Lighthouse tour depot. Southampton and nearby Port Elgin also offer nice shopping, dining, fishing and romantic walks along the public boardwalk.
