The cabin apartment comes with Internet access, a small tv with Roku box, a modern kitchen and bathroom, multiple parking spaces and has a private entrance. It's nestled in a nice quiet neighborhood with glimpses of the lake. Though modernized, it still retains a rustic cabin feel. It's in walking distance to the famous Tudor House with live entertainment and food. Enjoy beautiful walks surrounded by trees, drive to the village, lake and favorite local shopping and restaurants. All just 5 minutes away by car. Stop by on your way up or down the mountain on a visit to Big Bear. We are approximately 1 mile from HWY 18.
The kitchen has a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and electric stove. There are dishes, pans, cooking utensils, cutting boards and so forth. No oven. The bed is a full sized bed. There is a fold out couch so if you have kids, send me an email. I know it's hard to afford to travel with kids, I have one. I know most of the neighbors now, they are all very nice. There is a patio with table and chairs.
I will send entry information the eve before your arrival.
The cabin apt has a separate entry. We may pass each other on the driveway. Say hi if you like. I'll do my best to respect your privacy but if you want to chat I'll do that as well. If you need anything while you are there just let me know. I'm happy to help out in any way possible.
Oversized cars might be an issue as there is no street parking and driveway entrance is narrow.
Keep the weather in mind! In the winter, when it rains it sometimes snows. Snow can happen Oct-May, check your weather apps. Bring chains for your tires and bring a shovel for your car. Check Caltrans for road conditions and make sure you are prepared. If you are concerned about traveling in the snow, plan your trip at a different time of year. During your stay I can direct you to a broom, snow shovel and a few other odds and ends if you need them.
Some questions I've been asked: I don't know anything about local fishing so please do your research. Same goes with boats.
There are multiple lakes in the area. Some may have restrictions while others may not.
Available dates, please check the calendar for available dates. I try to keep this current. If it's open and you want to book it, request a booking.
Please notify me if you need access to the fold out couch. I will provide you with info on where to locate extra sheets and blankets. Also please note that the fold out is a bit older and would be better for kids than adults. We've had some adults sleep on it and they were fine.
Absolutely no smoking of any kind anywhere on the property. We are in fire country. Please respect this rule.
Snow, hail, power outages and road closures do happen on occasion in all mountain areas. Power poles, trees and other sometimes go down. The county works real hard to get everything up and running and sometimes in very harsh conditions. Make it an adventure, pull out the lantern, play games, have fun, it will be a great story some day! It's not often but we just wanted to let you know. We understand this is inconvenient when it happens. I will do whatever I can to make your stay more pleasant during these situations and keep you posted with updated info as I know it. Like most mountain rentals, we do not do refunds for conditions that are out of our control.
Please note: We do not accept checks or cashiers checks. We do not share our mailing address. I get asked this regularly thus the need to post it here. HomeAway/VRBO assures us that payment through their site via credit card is secure.+ More
