Architect remodeled home with rustic charm in a coastal/lighthouse theme, featuring water views of the Elk River arm of the Bay from most areas of the home, in a quiet, natural setting. Large front (bay side) lawn for badminton, volleyball, bocce, etc. There is "hotspot" WIFI, cable TV/DVD in living room, master bedroom, and guest room TVs , with DVD players on all other TVs.
There is a private pier for your boat, or you can rent our jon boat or kayaks.
Enjoy a relaxing soak in the 5 person hot tub on the deck/patio, screened from the few neighbors we have, with a still-expansive view of the Bay.
The Guest (4th) Room, with a 3rd bath, TV, mini-fridge, and private entry porch, with it's own bay view, is an optional space at additional cost, if members of your party need extra privacy and features. Base rates shown are for the 3 BR/2B portion of the home, assuming 6 people.
Many new features are being added for 2017, including a deck/patio expansion, new appliances, and updated furnishings. The home has been off the market for the past few years while the family made use of it, and while we did some refurbishing. New photos are also on the way.
The 16 X 20 sunroom is an octagonal room with 150 degree views, vaulted ceiling with ceiling fans, and combines dining and sitting areas.
The living room is country traditional, with a paneled accent wall, armoir/TV/surroundsound music system, and fireplace.
The kitchen has maple cabinetry, tile countertops, work island, and buffet room divider with the sunroom.
The lighthouse loft, overlooking the foyer, on one side, and bay on the other, is a fun play space for kids, and is extra sleeping space for older kids, if needed, although we don't include it in the sleeping capacity normally, or recommend it, as the captain's ladder access can be difficult to negotiate for bathroom trips in the middle of the night. Use your discretion. The master bedroom has a French Door leading out to a semi-octagonal porch for sitting or dining, a sublime space to enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, beer or glass of wine, and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies come and go from the extremely popular butterfly bush. As this home is on the Intracoastal Waterway, you can watch the boats, large and small, plying the channel, a parade that almost never ends. Or slide into the hot tub to watch the same parade, or to enjoy a starry, starry nighttime sky after the sun sets. Of course, when the volleyball or wiffle ball is over, there is the pier, with the floating inflatable "oasis" island for the kids (or you!) to enjoy to cool off, and bounce around on the waves that the boats make for you. And, of course, there is always the quiet time with a book or magazine on the porch, patio, or pier, or in the sunroom, where you can relax and recharge. The kitchen is fully equipped, with most condiments in the fridge or cabinets, for your use. The propane grill on the patio is always at the ready.
Main Street in North East, 10 minutes away, offers a variety of antique and specialty shops. It is also home to several fine restaurants, and the Owners are happy to share their personal favorites with you. Please note that average daily rates and holiday week rates are for the house with 3 bedrooms/2 baths, assuming 6 people. The 4th bedroom/3rd bath is optional at $500/5 days, and includes 2 extra guests.+ More
