Our historic cottage was built in the 1770s by Ruben Merriwether, and sits near the manor house where he and his ancestors lived at Roundabout Hills. The house and cottage are secluded and private, but close to all of the art, culture, restaurants and dining in the nearby towns of Frederick and Columbia, as well as in easy reach of the cities of Baltimore and Washington, DC.
The caretaker's cottage at Roundabout Hills is said to have once housed a family of eight! We don't try to cram quite so many into this unique and cozy 18th-century cottage, and have designed it as the perfect space for a solo business traveler or a couple seeking a weekend getaway from the city of visiting our area from out of town. We have kept the rough hewn beams in the main room downstairs, as well as the corkscrew staircase up to the bedroom, which has old growth wide plank pine floors. If you have young children, we can set up a "pack and play" and/or cots, depending on the ages of your youngsters.+ More
