Our newly renovated (March 2017) lakefront property offers a private sandy beach along the historic shore of Valcour Bay, complimentary kayaks and bikes, a swimming area as well as a zen garden and backyard. We are within walking distance to lakeside dining, a marina and boat rental, and a historic golf coarse. Prepare for a retreat of relaxation, fun and adventure. This home is sure to be your "happy" place!!
We offer all the comforts of home that include two complementary kayaks and life vests, two bikes and two sets of snow shoes. Bike to our downtown farmers market and enjoy a farm to table meal in our fully equipped kitchen with an eat-in bar as well as dining for six. Two patio areas with an outdoor gas grill are also available. There are two air-conditioned private bedrooms, two full size baths and a pull-out sofa in the living room area. A cozy sunroom with a high-top table allows you to bring the outdoors in. If you prefer to be outside, rest and relax within the oriental inspired garden of the backyard and take in partial views of the lake. Beyond the backyard garden, a 350' walk along a nature path will lead you to the private sandy beach.
On a calm summer morning kayak at sunrise or pack a picnic lunch and paddle 1 mile to Valcour Island where you can explore the light house first hand and/or hike 7.5 miles of easy island trails. Paddle or walk to a nearby marina where you can dine for lunch or dinner at their lakeside restaurant. Fishing is also abundant as we are situated at the mouth of the Salmon River, and just 1 mile north of a boat launch for easy lake access. Bluff Point Golf Resort, the oldest resort golf coarse in America, is just 1 mile north where you can attempt a hole in one! If you choose to bike, there are many scenic routes available, which include the lake shore area as well as bike paths into the heart of the city. During the fall months, immerse yourself in the beauty of colorful foliage while you hike the famous 46 high peaks of the Adirondacks. In the winter, cross country ski our open parks, sled at Fox Hill, downhill ski Whiteface Mountain, ice skate in Lake Placid and maybe even snowshoe on the frozen lake if you are lucky! In the spring, visiting a maple sugar house is a must!!+ More
