A perfect base to explore the Maine Coast, this charming cottage is located on a dead end street in a quiet residential neighborhood. There is a large fenced-in yard with perennial gardens, a picnic table, outdoor fire place, and private outdoor shower. Renovated in 2009, it is delightfully furnished in a laid- back cottage style.
The cottage is a 5 minute walk from beautiful Willard beach and a ten minute walk from Fort Williams State Park, home of the famed Portland Headlight. There are also several amenities close by, including an ice cream shop, boutique shopping, an amazing bakery, day spa, live theater, Thai restaurant, Texas Bbq, art gallery and sandwich shop. There are several beaches and lighthouses within a 3 mile radius of the property, including Higgins Beach, Crescent Beach, and Bug Light.
Portland is a convenient five minute drive across the bridge. Or you can bike there! We are located close to the Green Belt bike path, which takes you to Downtown Portland by way of beautiful parks and a rose garden.
Portland is a food and art lover's paradise! Browse the countless galleries and locally-owned boutiques, and dine in one of the many nationally-renowned restaurants. Portland's Farmer's markets showcase the best foods Maine has to offer.
If you are looking to do something on the adventurous side, sail aboard Schooner Bagheera or one of the antique schooners birthed at the Maine State Pier. Or take a short ferry ride to Peaks Island (remember to bring a picnic and rent bicycles for the day).
For those who love to shop, Freeport is a short 15 minute drive. Visit the famed L.L. Bean headquarters and many other high-end outlets, then take a break from shopping and meander home through South Freeport. Stop at Wolfs Neck Farm, pick up some locally raised organic beef, and bring it back to grill.
A half hour South is the wonderfully kitschy Old Orchard Beach, with its old fashioned carnival.
Whatever your desire, we will point you in the right direction!
