Our comfortable one-bedroom cottage combines function with fun. It has an open floor plan plus sleeping loft and reading nook upstairs. Wifi available. Convenient for Memorial Hospital and Olympic Training Center visitors needing short-term lodging.
We're located just east of downtown Colorado Springs with a partial view of the Rocky Mountains. You'll have the entire cottage to yourself: one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a nicely-equipped kitchen, including a gas stove. The sleeping loft upstairs comes with two twin air mattresses and linens. We feel the cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 3 people; we'll allow a firm maximum of four, if two people are comfortable sleeping on the air mattresses and the four of you don't mind sharing the bathroom. Only the people who are included in your reservation request may stay in the cottage. Please provide the number of people and their names when we confirm your reservation.
You can put your feet up in the living room and use the flat-screen TV. Or hang out in the loft reading nook. The front porch is a nice place to enjoy a beer or glass of wine in the afternoons, or just relax and watch the birds and squirrels play. There's a fire pit and covered patio in front which is shared with another property on the same lot and a smaller uncovered patio to the side that is all yours.
There's much to do in the Colorado Springs area. We're a block away from Boulder Park and five blocks from Memorial Park. Just down the street from the US Olympic Training Center and within 5 - 20 minutes of miles of trails and open space, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City shopping, downtown Colorado Springs, United States Air Force Academy, and other don't-miss sites.
We're about 2.5 - 3 hours from several ski resorts. Other easy day trips could include the Royal Gorge, white water rafting, or a trip to the summit of Pikes Peak.
We stock your fridge with some basic breakfast supplies, there's a Walmart and Safeway nearby, and Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and a local, organic grocery store a 10-minute drive away. Many restaurants and shopping areas are nearby.
This property does not have air-conditioning.
Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible and that includes how much you'd like to interact with us. Since we live in a separate dwelling on the same lot, we'll be available for information, recommendations or we'd be glad to show you some of our favorite trails and things around our beautiful city to see. You'll have our phone number - don't hesitate to call.
One of the best things about the neighborhood is that you'll get a real view into life in Colorado Springs. We're far enough away from the tourist areas for you to feel truly at home, but close enough to enjoy all the sites people from all over the world come to visit. We're situated between two parks and about a 25-minute walk from downtown restaurants, bars and other fun things to do and see.
We're just a block away from a bus stop. The bus routes cover a large portion of the area of the city we're in - we'd recommend searching online for the city bus routes if this is important to you. Otherwise, there is plenty of room for you to bring a car.+ More
