If you cherish high box ceiling and beautifully restored woodwork, which I spent four months stripping to reveal the golden quarter sawn oak, you will appreciate this homes natural beauty. This house has been recently renovated but with new features that enhance the quality and comfort of this space. As you will see from the pictures the house is furnished in a contemporary style but with comfort and cozy in mind.
Enjoy the ambiance while viewing photography by Hal D. Gould (Master of Photography) featured on the walls. Hal Gould was the owner and director of the Camera Obscura Gallery for 32 years, a world renowned gallery showing photography as a fine art, located across from the Denver Art Museum. Hal reached his retirement at age 91 and closed the gallery in 2011 but continued to live in this house until he was 94. I also grew up in this house and raised my three children here. After Hal’s passing, family members decided to restore the house, a labor of love, this is a special house with a very good vibe. This Airbnb is not for everyone, this house is 100 years old this year (2017) and deserves to be handled with care and respect and we would appreciate that too. The basement is currently occupied by a family member whom is available to assist you with any needs or questions. The updated kitchen is an entertainment center with large island, stools and built in speakers to play your favorite tunes. The kitchen was designed with an open arrangement, providing a place for more than one cook to prep your evening meal without bumping into each other. This is a cook’s kitchen for sure. If you are interested in a hiring a personal chef, let me know.
