This very comfortable one-bedroom apartment is located in the historic district of Jackson Heights, Queens. The apartment has one-bedroom and one-bathroom and is on the 5th floor of a building with NO elevator. The apartment has hardwood floors, lots of afternoon sunlight, and overlooks the backyard garden. It is a quiet apartment in a quiet building. The bedroom has a king-sized bed (sleeps two) and the living room has a futon (sleeps one) that can be used as a sofa or bed. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower combination. The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator, toaster, and coffeemaker as well as cookware. There is high speed, wireless Internet and a flat-screen television with streaming but NO cable.
Jackson Heights is a clean, safe neighborhood with people from various backgrounds and excellent transportation. 37th Avenue (one block from the apartment) is the main shopping district. 37th Avenue has a variety of restuarants, cafés, and bakeries. There are also several clothing stores, boutiques, banks, and grocery shops. There is a 24-hour pharmacy and a 24-hour supermarket in the vicinity (5 minute walk). 82nd Street is also another major shopping district with many chain stores as well as independent shops.
Jackson Heights has a lot of transportation options. There are two subway stations that are in close vicinity to the apartment.
One of the stations is the 82nd Street – Jackson Heights Station which is a five minute walk from the apartment. This station has the local 7 train to Manhattan (about a 20 minute, scenic ride to Midtown Manhattan).The 7 train also goes to directly to Citi Field (about a 10 minute ride) for guests who wish to see the NY Mets play baseball.
The other station in close proximity is the Jackson Heights – Roosevelt Avenue Station. This station is a major transportation hub that has 5 subway lines passing through it. The station is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and has the E, F, M, R, and 7 trains. E and F trains are express trains (about a 10 – 15 minute ride to Midtown Manhattan).
