Property Description

Make your genuine Hawaii experience away from the tourist crowds and find peace, serenity and total privacy surrounded by a lush tropical garden.

Hale Huna is comfortably furnished with the Award-Winning Queen Sized Casper mattress, and features a bathroom with bathtub, living area with a futon, internet, and a veranda with a garden view. Note: there is no kitchen in the cottage.

Tucked away from the busy hustle, our 1.4 acre property in the district of Ka'u, on the Island of Hawai'i (Big Island), offers the perfect hideaway for your holiday adventures.

The Cottage is located 3/4 mile away from the main road, thus offering privacy and seclusion for your vacation paradise.

This Cottage is 100% Solar Powered, please conserve during your stay with us.

Wake up to the beautiful song of the birds and start your perfect day with a rich organic breakfast with freshly picked fruits and homemade breads on your private deck.

Enjoy solitary hiking trails in the area, experience coastline hiking past Ka'alu'alu bay and Green Sand Beach, or to volcanic craters and tropical rainforest.

We are ideally between Hilo and Kona, on the last 80 miles of undeveloped coastline in the State of Hawaii. It's 15 minutes to South Point, 5 minutes from the southern entrance of Volcano National Park (Kahuku), 40 minutes to the main entrance and 20 minutes from the famous Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, where the Hawaiian green sea turtles can be seen basking on the sand. Take along free snorkeling gear, a boogieboard and cooler for a great day at the beach. See you soon!

If you want to experience the real flavor of Big Island, this is the place to go! It is recommended to rent a Jeep or SUV, since many roads on the Big Island are unpaved (as is the last 3/4 mile to the cottage) and Mauna Kea can only be accessed by 4-Wheel Drive.

Yummy Breakfast!

My granddaughter and I had a great stay! We were glad that we went and found it before night fell, then we went to South Point to photograph the sunset. We congratulated ourselves for being so smart to have found it earlier in the daylight and used our cellphone flashlight to get from the car to the house. The next morning our breakfast arrived at... Nice

Nice little place to overnight if you are traveling between Hilo and Kona. The breakfast was great and the hostesses were very charming. Bring your bug spray, it's in the jungle.

Cute, Eco-Friendly and great Breakfast

The property was clean and comfortable. It was nice waking up to the birds and going to sleep to the sounds of nature. Not too far from the Volcano National Park, which was our main destination.

Nice but a little overpriced, we thought we had paid for everyone but were charged an additional $20 when we arrived at property

Peaceful

If you are looking for quiet, peaceful, eco-friendly accommodations, this is the perfect place. Simple, spotless, tastefully decorated, lovely views, plus friendly & thoughtful hosts. What more could you ask for? Groceries & several restaurants within 15-20 minute drive, breathtaking sights nearby. Thank you Pete & Sara!
