Victoria Beach is situated on the southeastern shores of Lake Winnipeg—the sixth largest lake in Canada—with cottage rentals scattered throughout the surrounding pine-scented peninsula. The area is host to one of Manitoba’s largest catamaran sailing fleets, as well as other dinghies and keelboats, and like Grand Beach to the south, Victoria Beach's stretches of white sand framed by lush green fields beckons sunbathers and swimmers.
While sailing is the main attraction, the area’s proximity to Elk Island Provincial Park—a mere 1.2-kilometer wade across water when the tides are low, and a boat ride when they’re high—creates opportunities for hiking and walking, in addition to wildlife viewing. Further, Victoria Beach’s car-free community boasts twice-weekly movie nights, golf tournaments, an annual flea market and second-hand book sale, and the famed Einfeld’s Bakery.
Just an hour and a half drive north of Winnipeg, Victoria Beach is a charming place for a lakeside retreat and a popular place to rent a cottage in Manitoba.+ More
