This apartment is located in the North End of Eastport, formerly known as Moose Island (pre-causeway). It is next door to the owner's home; the first floor is vacant. Living room area has a twin bed, and couch which opens into a double bed with a very comfortable inflatable mattress (electric inflator provided). The well-stocked kitchenette has a skylight over the sink and a small eat-in dining area. The bathroom has a brand new custom-made tiled shower with bench. Plenty of windows provide light and good ventilation (or good cross breezes), with lovely seascape and meadow views. Electric baseboard heat will keep you toasty on cool nights. Cable TV, clothes washer, binoculars, grassy yard, quiet neighborhood, a two-minute walk to the water's edge, 0.7 mile to downtown shops, restaurants, galleries, Eastport Arts Center, fishing, boat rides, whale watches, library, and free wifi opportunities.
The building got its name from its proximity to Dog Island which is an island when the tide is in but can also be walked out to at low tide. Dog Island is right near the "Old Sow", the famous whirlpool which they say was so severe in years back that boats just disappeared down into it!+ More
