This one bedroom house in Taft, is a perfect base for exploring Carrisa Plains, Tule Elk Reserve, or the Windwolves Reserve.
The technology pioneered here and exported to the rest of the world to pull oil from the ground is illustrated at The Kern West Side Oil Museum. Taft is also home to The Oil Workers Monument. Taft High school with its classic Art Deco facade was the backround for the story and used in the filming of the Robin Williams film The Best of Times.
