The cottage features a combined living/kitchen/dining area overlooking the lake and trees. Behind that are two bedrooms that will sleep up to 5 people and a 3-piece bathroom. As a bonus, there is a bunkie with a pair of single bunks that extends the overall capacity of the cottage to 6 (we know you counted beds for 7, but 6 people is the practical limit for a rental group here).
Outside, you will enjoy the lake and trees on one side and a wide expanse of grassland on the other. You will find both vistas equally relaxing. There is a fire pit at the lakefront for you to share with your family the time-honoured traditions of campfires, marshmallows roasts and evening stories. Astronomers will want to bring their binoculars and telescopes as the open space and dark skies offer great opportunity.
Whitestone is a great lake to explore by paddle boat, and Dunchurch View is a great base from which to do it. A generous size dock also makes for a great place for swimmers to congregate and, of course, is perfect for simply relaxing with a cool drink. Need a glass of wine to go with supper? A quick paddle across the lake will take you to the local LCBO. You can also take advantage of the larger public beach here as well. If you are bringing your own motorized craft, there is also a boat launch directly across the lake from the cottage.
The Whitestone Lake area is growing in popularity every year. The town of Dunchurch offers a small cafe, a church, the LCBO and a few other stores for the basics. A short drive to Magnetawan offers some quaint shops and cafes as well as the local burger hut. Parry Sound is just 30 minutes away and has all the amenities of a larger centre, with museums, cruises, concerts and more.
When considering a rental cottage for your family, we think Dunchurch View will be close to what many people see as the perfect spot.+ More
