For general amenities, we provide towels, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, iron, hair dryer and many other useful things. For your comfort and convenience, the central heating and air conditioning system is yours to adjust; it's independent from the rest of the house. Ultrafast broadband Wi-Fi Internet is provided at no charge.
You'll have an entire self-contained floor in a three-floor home to yourself. Owners occupy the top floors and guests stay on the bottom floor. Your access from ample on-street parking is down a private stairway to your own private entrance. A keypad code will give you entry to the house.
Interaction with Guests
We live upstairs and are generally around outside of normal working hours. We'll usually be able to welcome you in person when you arrive, or soon after, and will then respect your privacy for the duration of your stay. But we're just a text or phone call away should you need anything.
We're located in the Highland Park neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles. Highland Park and its adjoining neighborhood Eagle Rock were recently named "top of the trendiest neighborhoods" nationwide. Last year Condé Nast Traveler named York Boulevard, which runs between Eagle Rock and Highland Park, "L.A.'s Coolest Street." As real estate website Redfin notes, "Eagle Rock has grown increasingly popular because it has so much to offer. Even though you're in the Los Angeles area, it has a small-town feel; you'll find well-kept homes often full of charm and character on mature tree-lined streets."
Highland Park is culturally diverse and has a wonderful urban vibe (it's not a sleepy, perfectly manicured suburb). It's a fantastic mix of old and new in terms of architecture, commerce, food and culture. York Blvd boasts an eclectic string of record shops, galleries, cafés, vintage stores, bars, food trucks and clothing boutiques.
You'll be perfectly situated near several major freeways, including the 110 and 134 as well as the 2, 5 and 210, which makes getting to work, fun, dining, shopping and entertainment a breeze. Straight shot to Burbank airport, major studios, downtown, Glendale, Pasadena, Occidental College and the Rose Bowl. Your route from LAX airport is simple: just take the 105 to the 110.
As for public transportation, the L.A. Metro gold line is a mile away. The Metro is a handy, no-traffic way to get around -- it can quickly shuttle you to major points of interest all over the L.A. area, including Hollywood, downtown and Pasadena. If you feel like walking, you can walk to the station in about 25 minutes (note that walking up and down hills will be involved), or you can get there in 5 minutes by car or a short Uber/Lyft ride.
No fires, candles, grilling or any other forms of open flame. Absolutely no smoking, anywhere, whether inside the house, outside the house, around the house, or on the street. (L.A. is going through a drought and fires can spark up all too easily.)
No pets, illegal activity or drugs, including any type of marijuana.
- Feel free to have fun but please respect upstairs occupants and our neighbors by keeping noise at reasonable levels. Quiet time starts at 11:00 PM.
No parties or unapproved overnight guests. Feel free to have a couple friends over to visit but please let us know in advance and inform them of the house rules, including the need for discretion with neighbors and respectful parking.
No photoshoots, filming or other commercial use of the property.
- Please supervise young children. Our home is not child-proofed so, although we provide two door gates for your use, please bring any safety items you'll require.
Other Things to Note
We accept reservations for as many as 28 nights. For insurance reasons, we unfortunately cannot accept third party bookings so we will need to verify ID at check-in (ID must match the person booking the reservation).
Our strong preference is for check-in to occur after 6:30 PM and check-out before 10:00 AM. However, we can be flexible as needed. We can usually accommodate other arrival and departure times, but we may not be able to be there to greet and/or send you off in person. For insurance reasons, we won't be able to store your luggage or other personal property after check-out.+ More
