Take a journey within the habitations of the first Ecolodge of Quebec. Situated at the border of the majestic Matagami Lake, it was conceived with the intention of integrating with the natural boreal forest environment. The Ecolodges Lake Matagami offer an experience of immersion with nature for a unparalleled relaxing time.

Each lodge provides great privacy and has private access to a natural beach with fine grained sand.

Three Ecolodges made of wood and two yurts are available on location. Their capacity of receiving visitors varies between four to six people.

Available on location: Bedding and comforters, propane stove, towels and other outdoor equipments: canoe, kayak, snow shoes, cross-country skis, etc.

Certain sites are equipped with an exterior northern bath. Offer yourselves this little luxury. Please inform about vacancies.

Nautical sports and Beach

In sailing, canoe or kayak, discover the Matagami Lake with its numerous fine sandy beaches, renowned among the most beautiful beaches of Quebec.

The navigable shoreline of Matagami Lake; (which extends 37km) is surely an incomparable tourist attraction of our northern region.

From June to October, enjoy a day of initiation on a cruising sailboat (26 feet) with the Sailing School of Matagami for a single day out with a guide to learn the basics of sailing or the challenge of an internship cruise up to 5 days.

Possibility of renting a boat with a motor and a guide available upon request.

The territory is full of wild animals and game. You may come across: a black bear, a moose, a wolf, a lynx as well as small game and variety of birds.

Additional Information

What you need to think about bringing with you: Objects of personal hygiene: Towels, soap (which respects the environment). Your cooler and food. Donâ??t forget to bring your own pots and pans if you plan on cooking in an exterior fire as it is strictly forbidden to use the pots and pans provided with the lodges on an open fire. For exterior bonfire, you can bring your own wood or buy some on location. Collecting wood: Collection of wood from the forest is strictly forbidden. Even dead branches that have fallen must be left to decompose in the forest in order to create the habitat for a variety of ecosystems.
