Property Description

The condo is located in a quiet neighborhood and is a great place to base your trip and explore the region. The mountains are at your doorstep - Cheyenne Canyon and the Pikes Peak foothills are immediately to the west where you can go for a drive or hike.

The house has great views of Pikes Peak and the front range. I have a telescope that I point to the Pikes Peak Summit, because it is America's Mountain. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a comfortably soft pillow top. The second bedroom has a pull down (murphy) full size bed, with a writing desk armoire . The family room has stunning views of the mountains to the west. All the rooms are clean, elegant and beautiful. The apartment offers up close and personal views of Cheyenne Mountain, Pikes Peak and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

AMENITIES: The condo has central air conditioning and heat. There is a gas fireplace next to a reclining chair and couch makes a perfect space for conversation. The condo has a new LG clothes washer and dryer, powdered soap and softener provided. The condo offers a beautiful updated kitchen that is perfect for those looking to do some cooking – with glass stove top and oven, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, blender, crockpot, etc. There is no dishwasher, but there is a full suite of cooking utensils and cookware are provided. A television with roku / netflix is availabe. WIFI internet is provided - password written down inside the house. You can also use the media area to tune into the radio or listen to pandora. The apartment sits on the second story, and as there are no other tall buildings to the west you have unobstructed views of the mountains to the west. There is a small garden in the back with a picnic bench, you are welcome whatever is growing – right now salad greens & the tomatoes are IN!! (beware - pumpkins are coming). A gas grill is available for use with reservation..

EATING OUT: For those who are looking to go out, the condo is just blocks away from several restaurants that would make for the perfect date: Blue Star (#57), Bristol (#51), Edelweiss (#18), Arcero’s (#69), and Panino’s (#161). For those who are interested in craft beers and drinks, it is a lovely short walk to the Ivywild School, home of the famous Bristol Brewing Company, or to Smiling Toad Brewery in the other direction. Fantastic!

LOCATION: This place is super accessible and easy to get to. It is located near I-25 and US 24, so getting onto the highway is super easy. We are hidden on the other side of a hill from the highway, so it's peaceful. We are in the very old but rejuvenated neighborhood of IVYWILD, just steps away from downtown Colorado Springs, yet worlds apart.

AIRPORTS: 20 minutes to COS; 2 hours + to DEN.

NEIGHBORHOOD: This is in a great middle class neighborhood, with a mixture of funky old and unique new houses, lined with tall oak trees. We are in one of Colorado Springs oldest neighborhoods. There used to be a barn and house on the property, but it was razed and this property build in 2005. It is quite odd that a few house down the road, there is a house dating from 1900... The neighborhood is eclectic and vibrant; desirable in Colorado Springs. I recommend a walk to the Farm and Art Market (Wed / Sat) at the Ivywild School or just around the area to take in the gardens. The area is safe and quiet; I have never had trouble here.

PETS & WILDLIFE: Pets: Sorry, I do not allow animals.

Neighborhood Pets: Be aware there is a cute orange cat who mistakes this place for his own sometimes. If he comes in, you may feed him from the food dish by the washer, and then ask him to leave. Because of him, I do have a HEPA air filter running. We DO have wildlife in the neighborhood, (just the other day we had a trio of deer napping in the backyard in the morning). But the bears trying to get into trash cans late at night, so please be alert and do not approach. It's winter so he's hibernating.

NOTE: This property is occupied by the owners on occasion, and may not be available during certain periods. This makes it difficult to plan out extended stay reservations (month long) or far in the future. It ideally fits 3 -4 adult persons. The condo is not infant safe. There is immense interest in requesting this house, so please, after you get a quote, secure your reservation by making the initial payment ASAP. You do not have a secure reservation until the first deposit has cleared. My family appreciates your care and consideration while in the house.

You may notice a few pink ribbons on the fridge and elsewhere - the owner is a two times cancer survivor, and we really appreciate your support and consideration! I really want you to have a great stay and enjoy Colorado!

OK. There's a LOT to be said. If you visit, here is what I recommend: Check in and settle in. Then get your family in the car, and pack a lunch or dinner (Taste of Philly or Popeye's chicken?). Head West on Cheyenne Blvd, up into Cheyenne Canyon. I'll tell you about the picnic tables up the road into the mountains and the waterfalls, or the hidden table that's by the stream, honestly it is a beautiful drive. Enjoy a picnic in the mountains, perhaps walk up Mt. Cutler, and then drive back down. This is why you want to rent this place, because it's stunning.

All fun and no problems!


Highly recommend. I loved the view from the living room and how cozy and comfortable I was able to get within 4 days of staying there. With Netflix, Wi-Fi and a Wii gaming system ready to go what else can you ask for? I had a really good time at the vacation property and in Colorado Springs!
