Sitting well back from the road, this quiet, well-maintained 6-bedroom home has room for the whole family (or two)!
The main floor boasts gorgeous hardwood floors and soaring vaulted ceilings. Enter the bright living room with a large stone wood-burning fireplace, a 60" flat screen tv (with Netflix and Cable), a large leather couch (seats 6-7) and a table and four chairs for puzzles, games, coffee, whatever!
The open kitchen with dining area (also hardwood) has recently been improved to include brand new stainless steel appliances, double stainless steel farmhouse sink, quartz counters, white custom cabinetry, a hidden computer station, and a table that expands to seat up to 12 comfortably. There are patio doors leading to the huge, west-facing deck perfect for BBQ-ing, bird-watching, and entertaining complete with outdoor seating for 6 (and additional chairs for the firepit or to eat around the table).
Down the hall you will find 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom which is also accessible by the master bedroom. The master has a queen sleigh bed, flat screen TV with cable/Netflix, gorgeous views of the golf course, a cheater door to the bathroom, and the beautiful vaulted ceilings. The second bedroom upstairs has a set of twin bunk beds and a large bright window. The third bedroom is suitable for a baby/toddler. There is a crib, a very comfortable fully reclinable chair, and a change table hidden in the closet. Both the second and third bedrooms feature those beautiful ceilings. All of the bedrooms have black-out blinds; shut them if you want to sleep in or open them if you'd like to wake to the birds and the sunshine.
Downstairs you will find 3 more bedrooms, a bathroom plus a den, laundry area, and piano room. The den has beautiful hardwood floors, a fireplace, a computer station and flat-screen television with a gorgeous barn door entry. The bedroom nearest the den has built-in loft-style custom twin beds with a tunnel underneath and laminate flooring - perfect for little ones to play in, but comfortable enough for adults to get a good night's sleep. There is a queen-sized bed in the other (carpeted) bedroom with lots of light. Another double-sized (carpeted) bedroom is downstairs with lots of light. A full-sized bathroom and brand new large capacity washer and dryer with an adjoining piano/music (the full-sized upright piano is well-maintained) practice room completes the lower floor space.
We have a very family (including pet!) friendly home. You will find all the baby gear you could possibly need, including strollers, pack and play, high chair, change table, and toys. There is an abundance of books, games, toys, puzzles, and firewood available for use for those rainy inside days. High speed internet, cable, laptop, Netflix, movie collection, and PlayStation/Wii are also available.
Tranquil fully-fenced yard backing onto Olympic View Golf Club complete with swingset, climbing dome, trampoline, fire pit, and hot tub. There's even a doghouse outside. There are two playgrounds across the street for children and the Olympic View Golf Club boasts a variety of golf holes nestled deep inside a pristine forest. The natural beauty is punctuated by two waterfalls, twelve lakes, roaming deer, soaring eagles, and the beautiful snow peaked Olympic Mountains in the horizon. The signature (17th) hole plays through a steep, narrow valley past a huge rock column and an elegant Japanese garden.
If you're just interested in 9 holes, the Metchosin Golf & Country Club is a few doors down, offering a challenging and picturesque 9-hole course where exceptional service and friendly staff will make your golf experience a memorable one.
A minute or two down the road in the other direction will bring you to Green Acres Golf Course; a nice, friendly, and peaceful par 3 golf course and full driving range which is half undercover. Green Acres is a great place to take the family out or hit a bucket of balls with a buddy.
Witty’s lagoon is just down the road; this seashore park contains a diverse landscape with woodlands, freshwater creek, salt marsh, sandy seashore and rocky headlands providing habitat for an equal diversity of plants and animals. Forest trails, sandy beach, nature centre and rich bird life make this an ideal destination for the whole family.
Walk to the Metchosin Farmers' Market (open Sundays from 11am to 2 pm from Mother's Day to the last Sunday of October) where you can buy your fresh vegetables, breads, jams, salsa, baked goods and gifts (or crafts) for your loved ones. Browse at the Pioneer Museum, purchase a book from the Old Barn Bookstore to read as you listen to music, or have lunch at a picnic table. Check out their Bulletin Board for local beaches, trails, historic sites and eateries. MyChosen Cafe is a favourite and the Broken Paddle serves up some amazing baked goods and coffee.
The new Royal Bay Beach Club is 5 minutes down the road and has a new childrens' playground (open from dusk til dawn). You can paddleboard, kayak, or play beach volleyball. The house is only 10 minutes from the Westshore Town Centre in Langford, and 25 minutes from downtown Victoria.+ More
