Idyllic, True West Village 1 Bedroom - Skylights, Lots of light even on rainy days
Welcome to the storybook West Village: fantastic restaurants and cafes, beautiful shops, cobblestone streets and the old-world charm of brownstones and a more casual, laid back, downtown way of life.
The (Far) West Village is the most sought after neighborhood in all of Manhattan, home to many celebrities, models, artists, etc. Walk a couple of blocks west and you are on the beautiful Hudson River with all that the Hudson River Park has to offer. In addition to beautiful sunset strolls along the recently opened Highline Park, you can take part in the many sports activities and children’s programs at Chelsea Piers or the free programs offered by the Park and the Piers such as free outdoor screenings, free kayaks, mini-golf, free concerts, bike rentals and much, much more.
The apartment is a roomy, truly charming, airy, light-filled, TRUE 1-bedroom which is difficult to find on this site among the studios and Junior 1 BR’s (studio with a cordoned off bed). On the top floor of a turn-of-the-century brownstone, the apartment has hardwood floors, a decorative, original brick fireplace, a large marble bathroom with an antique sink and clawfoot soaking tub, a dining area, 2 huge eastern-facing picture windows, a large L-shaped couch (that can be used for EXTRA SLEEPING), a brand new 46 in. flat screen, microwave, premium cable, wifi, a huge 5 ft. x 5 ft. skylight in the living room and a smaller skylight in the bathroom providing gorgeous light all day.
West Village shopping is unparalleled. Within a 10 block radius you have all of the upscale shopping of Bleecker Street including Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Intermix, Cynthia Rowley, Lulu Guiness and others. And a few blocks in the other direction will take you into the Meatpacking District shopping area, home to Diane Von Furstenburg, Jeffrey, Stella McArtney, Scoop, Derek Lam, Hugo Boss, Moschino, Matthew Williamson, Catharine Malandrino, etc.
Exquisite dining choices of all types and prices are too many to list as the West Village and the surrounding neighborhoods of Chelsea, Soho and Tribeca are home to downtown’s finest. And if you’re up for a bit of a walk or a short subway or cab ride you can add the East Village, Gramercy, Lower East Side and Chinatown to your restaurant experiences. Not to mention that almost everyone delivers, many late into the night. It’s New York!
Cabs are very easy to catch at any time of day. The 1, 2, 3 line is a 4 min. walk to either the Christopher or Houston stop and it’s a 6 min. walk to the 4th st. hub station where you can catch the B, D, F or the A, C, E trains.
