Deemed one of the best vacation rentals in Baltimore City, this award wining historic luxury home is located in a quiet downtown neighborhood next to the convention center and stadiums. Most tourist attractions are within walking distance. Great for vacationers, families, and business folks. The host, a disabled veteran, is available for trip planning and great tips about Charm City.
Originally built in 1845 and located just 12-doors down from the birthplace of Babe Ruth, this home has just gone through a complete modern renovation. It's super clean, comfortable, and located in the safe and historic neighborhood of Ridgely's Delight. From the rooftop deck, to the brand new premium mattresses, to the professional kitchen, every stitch of furniture is new and modern while the exposed brick and old-growth pine rafters show the strong bones of the home's birth. Save your back and pack light because the home has a large LG washer and dryer with adjacent granite folding and hanging table. The WIFI throughout the house controls the climate and provides streaming video access for the televisions located in each bedroom, the living room and kitchen. Each television has satellite cable as well. The common areas have been built with Philips Hue Lighting which can change the color of each bulb to 16 million different shades (according to Philips). The dinning room table, constructed of 150-year old pine taken from the floor, can comfortably fit nine people with the extended leaf. The kitchen is also supplied with stainless steel appliances right out of the box and plenty of cookware and flatware to feed every guest. With the newly installed iSecure security system, the house is also smart about safety - which includes fire alarms that if one goes off, they all go off. (As a former firefighter myself, I recommend that feature as a must for any home). Above all, my home is super clean and super cozy. My mom enjoys sitting in the storefront window to watch the people walk by.
Guests have access to entire property - including rooftop deck. Each guest will be given a key to the front door and their bedroom in the welcome packet. Guests will also receive the alarm code to the front door upon arrival.
Interaction with Guests
I live on my sailboat just a few minutes away. I'm normally around should you have any questions or concerns. Should you want a catered stay, I have partnered with area restaurants and tour groups to help you design your stay.
Ridgely's Delight is one of Baltimore's more sought after neighborhoods and one of the safest. Neighbors are friendly and close-knit. The streets are clean and well-lit at night. Ridgely's is the birthplace of Babe Ruth. The Babe Ruth museum is located 12 doors from my house and smack dab next to Camden Yards. We're also walking distant to the convention center, arena, inner harbor, and M&T Bank Stadium. Although the neighborhood and my house are very quiet, we have all the amenities big city living offers! My home is next door to a highly ranked wine bistro and just around the corner from a great cafe and a few sports pubs! Plenty of things to do!
Not only are most tourist attractions within walking distance from my home, Baltimore has a lot of transportation options as well!
Like the Free Bus!
Baltimore has a free bus system called the Charm City Circulator. It is super clean, runs to most any destination you would need to go, and is really safe. Oh, and it's free! The nearest stop is about a 3-4 minute walk from the house.
Just about 2 blocks past the Charm City Circulator stop (about 7 minutes from the house) is the light rail stop. A ride on the light rail is $1.70 one way and a day pass is $4.00. The light rail runs north/south and you can take it south to BWI airport or north to Hunt Valley, Maryland. The light rail is the easiest way to get to Baltimore's Penn Station, which is the major rail station for the cities with Amtrak service.
MARC Train and Camden Station
The MARC Train is the commuter train system in Maryland and connects primarily Baltimore with Washington DC. On weekdays, a train line runs from Camden Station at Camden Yards (the Orioles stadium) less than a 10 minute walk from the house. You can take this train all the way to DC for about $7 one way.
I also recommend uber or lyft to get around and have some free ride coupons for you if haven't yet used their service!
Other Things to Note
Hungry in the morning? Each guest (up to eight guests) are given a voucher for free breakfast the first morning of their stay. (You'll love it! The owner is personal friend of mine and makes a mean breakfast sandwich!).
Wanna see the sights? A welcome packet will be located on the dining room table full of brochures, coupons, and my favorite places to go and things to do in Baltimore.
Close to Convention Center, Downtown, Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, Raven's Stadium, Baltimore Arena, National Aquarium, Science Center, a Casino, Museums, Lithuanian Hall, parks, dining, shopping, and entertainment. Located near most attractions, the neighborhood is quaint, quiet, and safe. All beds have new premium mattresses and sheets. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee and cookware. My place is good for anyone, especially large groups, biz travelers, folks with kids and/or pets.+ More
