Beautiful views, deep clear water for great swimming and opportunities to canoe and kayak are just some of the features of this lovely cottage. Situated between Westport and Kingston this three bedroom cottage is a wonderful location for exploring the Rideau Lakes area.
The cottage sits above the lake and has stunning views off the large deck. Take morning coffee out to the dock as the sun comes up and sit out and enjoy the stillness of the water on a summer’s evening and you may not ever want to leave this idyllic spot.
The interior is classic cottage country with lots of pine and cedar, traditional cranberry and green in the furnishings, and fully updated amenities. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area feel warm and welcoming and we can imagine evenings of board games or cards played on the dining table as the dusk turns to darkness and another day gently comes to a close. A TV with DVD player will keep the movie buffs happy while those wanting to keep in touch with the world will enjoy the hi-speed internet access.
To the rear of the cottage are three comfortable bedrooms and a full bathroom with a shower stall. There is also an upstairs loft area for more privacy.
The cottage sits on Canadian Shield rock and slopes down to the waterfront which is deep off the dock, and weed-free. A canoe and kayak are included so plan for some exploring on the lake –venture through a causeway tunnel to the other side of the lake for yet more spectacular views and islands. There is a boat launch directly across the lake.
Out and about, there’s a lot to explore too. Historic Kingston is worth a day trip and no visit to the Rideau Lake areas should miss a drive to the pretty waterfront town of Westport for a wide variety of shops and boutiques and a meal in one of the many restaurants.
Who do we think will love this cottage? Canoeists, swimmers, country lovers, and anyone who just wants to completely relax and enjoy tranquil and stunning surroundings will be happy here. We love it and sure you will too.+ More
