This antique part of the retreat sleeps up to 4 guests. Private entrance. The downstairs apartment offers stunning views through an eastern wall of windows. You can step out of your private living room into the gardens and the world of birds, butterflies, (over 70 species of birds and 50 species of butterflies sighted here have been documented on our website) and a wide eastern sky. Off of the living room is a queen bedroom and an additional teeny comfy double bedroom. A full bathroom includes a fiberglass bathtub and shower. A simple vegetarian kitchen holds adequate cookware and dishes. The apartment is private, quiet, and cozy. Views, gardens, hills and large sky!
Sweeping sky and landscapes surround our historic 1790 farmhouse. Perfect for those seeking a quiet and inspiring getaway into nature only 15 mins from Smith College and downtown Northampton. Our electricity is from a local community solar project. We use only chemical and fragrance free cleaning products and laundry detergents. Seventh Generation (and other eco-friendly) products are used here at Flower Hill Farm Retreat.
The living room fireplace works and may be used seasonally, only on approval, for an extra fee to help cover cost of wood. Please ask about the fireplace if it is an important reason you are booking. We cannot promise ahead that it can be used.
Downstairs can be linked to the Studio or upstairs (see our other listings) or be a completely private space. We have added a dining room that is also a link from the downstairs to the upstairs and only for guests who rent entire retreat or up and downstairs apartments.
Our nightly rate for the downstairs is 210 dollars for up to three guests 40 dollars per extra guest per night. Pets are welcome in the downstairs and studio. We have $50 pet fee for well behaved quiet dogs and indoor cats. We would need to briefly discuss your particulars to approve your pet. Breed, weight, age, habits . . . Our gardens, fields and forests are open to our guests. We asked that you please respect wildlife and stay on paths. Please do not pick flowers or get too close to bird houses. Please, pets must remain on close leash when in gardens. On a trial basis we are allowing pets into the gardens. This is a wildlife habitat and we have many ground nesting birds and butterflies in various stages of growth.+ More
