Eels lake is a quiet lake with close to 50% of the shoreline still under crown ownership. It is a nice size at close to seven miles end to end and a surface area of approx. 2400 hectares. With a mean depth of 25 feet it is over 100 feet in spots including the area directly in front of the cottage.
The lake is a feeder lake on the Trent Severn Waterway System which means the water level drops over the summer. Due to its depth this presents few issues other than diving off the dock is not possible later in the summer, and depending on water conditions and rainfall year to year. The lake is extremely clean and you can feel it when you swim, even in years of extreme heat and drought which makes it very rare.
The view from the dock is westward and outstanding. The cottage was hand built in 1958 from mostly pine and is still in pristine condition. There is approx. 200 of shoreline and most of the timber has been preserved. The property has been left completely naturalized and requires no maintenance. It is the quintessential cottage experience.

RENTAL RATES & INFORMATION
Based on 8 people maximum (6 adults maximum).
Cleaning service (if requested): $100
A 50% deposit is due to confirm rental dates at time of booking (preferred method is Interac e-Transfer).
Outstanding balance + $500.00 damage deposit is due 28 days (4 weeks) prior to checking in.
The damage deposit will be returned to you by Interac e-Transfer upon check out or once the cottage and property have been inspected by the owner or his designate (within 7 business days).
