Enjoy a relaxing week in the Finger Lakes directly on Cayuga Lake in a bright, newly renovated home that nods to mid-century design. The home is ideal for 4-6 people: great for couples traveling together. Conveniently located at the north end of the Cayuga Wine Trail, with an abundance of wineries (and distilleries and cideries) within 30 miles. If you feel like staying close, there are two bar/restaurants within walking distance, as well as a state park with boat launch just up the road.
The home consists of 2 bedrooms: a master with king-size bed and attached bathroom, and a second bedroom with two twin XL beds. Additional guests have use of a queen-size aero bed. Linens and bathroom towels are provided; Please bring your own beach towels. The living areas of the house are in a convenient open floor plan. The kitchen has a large bar area that seats four, and there is a dining table that comfortably seats 5-6. Please eat only in those areas, or of course on the back patio.
Outdoor spaces for you to enjoy include a spacious waterfront dock with picnic table, and a patio in the back yard with a table and chairs and a charcoal grill (please provide your own charcoal). There is also a sitting area with small fire pit in the front yard. There is a corner store nearby where you can pick up affordable fire wood, and you also may see some roadside stands on your way!
Accessibility: The home is ranch-style, so there are no stairs inside, only a step up to the front door and rear deck. The lakefront is about 200 feet down a decent but not treacherous hill.
Parking: There is plenty of room for 3 or 4 cars.
Please be aware: The house and lake frontage are separated by the street, so please keep an eye on kiddos (or just yourself!). It is a calm, 25 mph residential street with limited traffic.
We will not be present at any point during your stay. For those with smartphones, we can give you access via an eKey to get in the house for your initial arrival. There will be a set of real keys inside.
If you don't have a smartphone or don't want to bother with an eKey, please let me know a few hours before your arrival so that I can have the door unlocked.
The Finger Lakes is a beautiful area with tons of activities: wine trails, fishing, boating, hiking, and golfing... or just relax by the lake. Whether you want to explore the region or keep to yourself and unwind, our neighborhood is perfect for you. We live on a quiet, residential street that's good for walking or biking. There is a state park just up the road, with a boat launch and small, seasonal general store. There's even a (mediocre) mini-golf place with tasty ice cream just up the street on Rt. 89 (a long walk or super short drive). You can rent kayaks nearby to enjoy some time out on the water. Or spend a cloudy day shopping at Waterloo Premium Outlets nearby.+ More
