Below is the first review we had on Airbnb:
Our stay at The Little Red House was great! Located on GORGEOUS Palomar Mountain above the snow line, Denise and Dave have a wonderful place. The cabin is well appointed, with high quality furnishings, leather recliners , a gorgeous fluffy rug that accents newer hard wood floors, warm blankets, soft sheets, cushy pillows and everything you need to have a getaway in the mountains. This is no low end vacation cheap kitchen, either! I am raving about the nice wine glasses, spice cabinet, cast iron skillet, Kuerig 2.0, full size refrigerator, and updated gas stove. Both oven and microwave are newer as well. What we noticed also is the quality flatware, heavy to the hand, it made for a nice touch. There are 3 bedrooms for sleeping, each decorated simply, again, all quality bedding. The Little Red House is perfectly staged, with enough mirrors and decorations to feel like home, but not swimming in knick knacks that you have to worry about. There is Wi-Fi, satellite TV with Netflix and web TV, a nook kitchen that seats a large group, wood stove ( we kept it going the entire stay) and each bedroom also has a separate heater. Also a sky light in the living room lets in plenty of natural light. The shower is hot and there is a stackable washer/ dryer combo in the bathroom. Yard is perfect for sledding, in fact the entire neighborhood is, so don't forget the sleds, snowboards, and snow gear. It's a quiet secluded neighborhood with many roads to explore. There are no neighbors in the immediate vicinity, you wake up to awe inspiring views, snow covered trees and the quiet peaceful sounds of birds. We have a Toyota Sequoia, no 4wd. I suggest putting on your chains at the top of the road BEFORE you turn onto the dirt road. The snow was blanketed in some serious ice, you will need them on the wintertime. We came up at night, but I suggest doing the drive during the day. Beautiful scenery, and you'll breathe easier if you havent done the snow thing in a while. Denise and Dave are quality hosts of a rare breed. Not only was the cabin appointed with top notch supplies, it was exactly what Denise described. She responded to questions INSTANTLY, even when I had to call her late Xmas Eve because we were not sure of a turn in the road. She and Dave are friendly, helpful and very respectful. This was a tough holiday for us, having suffered a devastating loss of a child this year, and they gave us our space and privacy. That was so appreciated. Denise and Dave even thoughtfully removed some holiday decorations ahead of our stay ( after asking) , when I mentioned we were not celebrating this year. It's those little things that indicate true quality people. I am writing this review from the observation deck, gazing out at a stunning landscape , breathing the fresh mountain air.+ More
