My name is Lee Ann Johnson. I've lived here at Beulah Land Farm, just five minutes from Boone for twenty five years. YOU are invited to the mountains where you can experience the peace and rest of my hundred year old farm. Beulah Land is a unique vacation opportunity. Once a working farm, where we raised herbs, edible flowers, animals and boys, now it can be YOUR farm away from home...
I would like for my place to be a refuge from the rigors of your own mountain adventures! This house with its old hardwood floors and high ceilings is the ideal place to come home to after a day of hiking, sightseeing, visiting or skiing!
- Want to come and visit your student at App? -Need a quiet weekend getaway? -Make it a romantic retreat..
- or a girls weekend- come on up and cook your meals together, stay up late, giggle and laugh as you reconnect without distractions! -We are fifteen to thirty minutes from skiing -ask about the possibility of coming home to a hot country meal at the end of the day for a very reasonable price!
My guests are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking meals. You have a small refrigerator in your room to keep your own things in. Of course, I expect everyone to clean up after themselves, leaving the kitchen in the same shape they found it. I put all the dishes away every morning. All kitchen appliances are there for your use.
The bathroom is a shared bathroom, with a four foot shower as well as a washer and dryer for your use.
Guests are also welcome to make use of the big living and dining room as well as the covered front porch which is tastefully furnished for dining with large rattan and glass table, a seating area with comfortable rockers and of course the porch swing.
There are a number of places to sit and just enjoy the farm around the yard and gardens. There is also a classic old tree swing hung from the maple tree as well as a climbing rope for kids of all ages.
There is also a swing set and horse shoe pits on the north end of the property. And a Bonfire Ring, Gas Grill and a mini above ground contained fire pit.
You are also welcome to take a Creek Walk up Brushy Fork Creek which runs by the house just thirty feet from the front door! Fishermen will be happy to learn there are trout in my creek and we are a hop, skip and a jump from the Watauga River!
You are my guest! If I am here, I try to make myself available whenever I am needed but am sensitive for your need for privacy at the same time. I love people and enjoy interacting with others. While I am home MOST of the year, when I am traveling I will be available by phone at all times.
We are five minutes from Boone- right on the banks of bold and gurgling Brushy Fork Creek. Our fortunate location has all the advantages of rural life away from the hustle and bustle of our fair college town, but with instant access to all the high country has to offer: *Endless shopping opportunities in Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis
The Blue Ridge Parkway Grandfather Mountain Tweetsie Railroad Valle Crucis Park
Mast General Store Blowing Rock Mystery Hill Horne in the West Daniel Boone Park Banner Elk one hour from the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, Virginia
- and dozens of accompanying annual festivals that are held in the surrounding area!
There is a road behind us that you can walk up into the hills if you like to hike- From the top there are breathtaking views of Grandfather Mountain.
If you can't do hills, we are minutes from several lovely little walking tracks that are perfectly level. And of course we are less than thirty minutes from practically anywhere in the high country!
There is a shuttle that comes out this way during the week- once in the morning and returns in the late afternoon. When I am home, I am always willing to help with rides- we are three miles from the first Applecart stop which will carry you just about anyplace in Boone you'd like to go for free.+ More
