Holdsworth House History
The Holdsworth House was built in 1783, by Loyalist James Holdsworth. He came here with his family after the American Revolution. The family continued to live here until 1976. After that time, the house remained in the family(it was a rental property). We purchased the home in 1998, and started to restore the neglected house. This home is for people who enjoy historic homes and appreciate the quirkiness that comes with a house that is over 230 years old. The Holdsworth House allows guests to experience what it would have been like to live in a Loyalist home, but, with all the comforts of the modern era.
There are three bedrooms available, each with private ensuite. Two have claw foot tubs, the other has a walk in shower. Bed sizes include, 1 queen, 3 doubles, 3 twin(singles)
You can access the beach from the path leading from the backyard. Kayak rentals available in town, just 5 minutes from the house. Whale watching can be arranged with a discount for our guests(advance booking required). The historic sites of Annapolis Royal are 20 minutes by car. Kedjimkujik national park is a 40 minute drive. Plenty of hiking trails and canoe rentals available.+ More
