Maine on the coast is a dream vacation. The house is a spacious, comfortable, contemporary "villa" and has everything you need for a relaxing time. We are conveniently located between Blue Hill and its fine restaurants, fabled Deer Isle, Stonington and its lobster fishermen, and Brooklin, with the legendary Wooden Boat School.
We are just over an hour from Acadia National Park ---- bike, hike the carriage trails, eat mouth-watering popovers at the famed Jordan Pond Restaurant.
Cathedral ceilings in the living room and dining room grace the house, with lovely views of the pond outside and the Benjamin river. The kitchen is an easy workable one and the bright sunroom is a delightfully pleasant place to enjoy breakfast or other meals.
There are 3 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Two stairways lead to two of the bedrooms (one with King or 2 single beds, the other with a Queen bed) and the third master bedroom and ensuite bathroom (2 sinks) has a King bed and is on the first floor.
The bedroom with a King or 2 singles has an adjoining room with a single bed. There's a garage and a grill outside. Ample parking for additional cars.
Our pond graces the backyard and we often see ducks or even woodchucks enjoying it. As we breakfast in the sunroom (solarium) the pond adds a delightful picture out the window.
The Benjamin River is viewed from several rooms and if you are lucky enough to catch high tide you can see kayakers, or kayak yourselves. The river leads to the classic Eggomoggin Reach where sailors come each summer to relax, enjoy or even to race their boats.+ More
