An 1100 square foot, 3 bedroom cottage located on the Otonabee River, near Rice Lake and an easy 20 minute drive from Peterborough.
The sizeable kitchen offers many of the amenities of home including fridge, stove/oven, microwave and more for your meal preparation, along with ample counter and cupboard space. There is a window over the sink to let in the light, and a ceiling fan overhead to circulate the air. In a separate dining room you can enjoy a sit-down meal together at the dining table with four chairs while you take in a view of the riverfront.
In the bright living room space there is a large picture window looking out to the river, along with a couch and chair situated by a 40" TV with satellite and DVD player for your entertainment.
The cottage has three bedrooms, each with a ceiling fan overhead and a window to let in the breeze on a summer day. One bedroom offers a queen size bed while the other two each provide a double bed. The cottage bathroom is a four-piece with tub/shower combination.
Patio doors from the living room lead out to a 220 sq ft sun deck where you'll find a propane BBQ to grill up a feast.
The kids will enjoy the ample yard space in front of and behind the cottage to play and run around. The lawn goes right up to the shore of the Otonabee River where there are natural grasses and vegetation growing along the riverfront. The base of the river is rock and silt, and is not ideal for swimming. The river is popular for fishing and wildlife, or for paddling if you bring along your own canoe or kayak. For avid boaters and anglers, Rice Lake offers excellent fishing of perch, bass, muskie, walleye and more. There are various marinas and boat rentals around the lake so the drive time varies. There is however a marina with dock and boat launch in the community of Peterborough for those of you with boats of your own. Peterborough, with its shops, restaurants and entertainment is just a 20 minute drive north. Check out the Ganaraska Forest for treetop trekking or hiking activities in the area, or stop by The Canadian Canoe Museum to see what you can learn.
