Kozykabin's Cottage was built in 1994 and provides the most up-to-date accommodations of the 21st century. It's perfect for a romantic getaway, a 'kozy' overnight with the family or a wonderful week long vacation.
Located 1 1/2 hours north of Toronto, Ontario, you can do what your heart desires. Hiking, golfing, canoeing, kayaking, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, cross country skiing, biking, swimming, shopping or pick up your favourite book and relax...there are endless possibilities.
Having lived in this beautiful part of the country, we've experienced all the wonderful things that the Grey-Bruce Region offers. We want to create a special place that is the perfect vacation retreat for you, your family & friends.
The cottage is a Viceroy vacation rental nestled in a 26 acre hardwood forest...enjoy the stream that winds through the back of the property...a short relaxing walk. It's a place where it's easy to imagine a simpler time - a place where you can relax, and recharge.
Start your day on the spacious front deck enjoying the view and a cup of coffee as the finches feast on the niger seed. You may even catch a glimpse of the numerous deer wandering through the bush. Inside the cottage, watch your favorite movies with satellite TV or play checkers in front of the crackling airtight wood stove. It'll be hard to leave, but you're just a short drive from Markdale, Durham, Hanover and downtown Owen Sound. Enjoy the snowmobile trails, 18 hole golf courses, 'Symphony in the Barn', 'Summerfolk', exciting harness racing and casino, 'Ice Cream Festivals' and other area attractions.
As the day draws to a close, you'll have front row seats to watch nature's show as the colors of the sky change as the day unwinds. Sit by the campfire...enjoy searching for the Big Dipper. If you live in the city, you'll be amazed at the number of stars in the skies at night.
Fish - Saugeen River Or Bells Lake
Bait, lure or fly? No matter what you prefer you'll get hooked on Saugeen Country. One of Ontario's best trout and salmon runs. The Saugeen River's naturally sheltered feeder streams and spring-fed lakes are also prime waters for brown trout, bass and pike. Make it a family outing and don't forget your camera to capture your memories.
Take part in the annual Salmon Derby held in the Owen Sound harbour - Georgian Bay.
Several lakes and ponds have good safe beaches, perfect for family swimming. For the more adventurous at heart, swim in the rivers.
The largest inland lake in Grey County known for its monster bass, rainbow, speckled, brown trout and perch can be found there as well. Bring your fish finder, buy a fishing map of the lake or simply fish off the causeway or dock. Out on the lake, from the vantage point of a boat, you can simply see where the big fish are in the clear water. Fish tend to hide in the weed beds, among rocks or submerged logs. No minnows please as some species are invasive. Eugenia Lake has a good wide swimming area for families with small children to enjoy with trees providing shaded sections. The lake bottom is a bit rocky. Itâ??s easier to wade out to swimming depth with water shoes. A popular spot in hot weather. Located off County Road 13, turn east on Canrobert to the boat launch.
Many inland lakes and streams have been stocked with rainbow trout. Flesherton pond is no exception. Thereâ??s a beach area, pavilion and suitable swimming for families. Located in Flesherton off County Road 4, west of Highway 10.
Youâ??ll find rainbow and brown trout and some good locations for fly fishing. River swimming here is suitable for the adventurous and experienced. There is no beach or place to wade in gradually. Just jump in! Located north of Kimberley on County Road 13 at the river access point.
