There is no feeling like the surreal adventure-rush you get when a big monster Northern Pike rips 50 feet of line off your reel or when a big fat Walleye keeps digging down underneath the boat with no intentions of giving up. How about watching a Smallmouth Bass fly into the air or a lunker Lake Trout towing your boat around. You can experience these things on Lake Onaping.
Lake Onaping is well known for being one of Northern Ontario's best fisheries. We have fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Lake Trout. There are streams and lakes within an hour's drive of base camp with good Brook Trout (Speckled Trout) fishing. Lake Onaping is also in the MNR stocking program with more than 500,000 Walleye and Lake Trout released each year. Our guests experince good sizes and good numbers. You don't have to drive 20 hours north to find great fishing.
Our boats are the Temagami style steel boats. They are very sturdy and safe. Each boat is equipped with a 9.9 Yamaha motor as well as safety kit. Please bring your own lifejacket. You can bring seat cushions but they are not a legal substitute for a lifejacket in Ontario. We have a 24-foot pontoon boat for taxing guests to the outpost camps.
We have a variety of terrains, which are perfect habitat for Moose to grow big and healthy. We have thick bush, swamps, streams, ponds and patches of grass with some being big enough to be called fields. There are also many ATV trails and old dirt roads, which give hunters easy access to these areas. We are not excepting bookings for Black Bear hunting at this time. We are waiting to hear from the government about our new bear management area (BMA).

This cabin is open concept with lots of room and sleeps 6 people comfortably. It also has a large stable dock, which makes it easy to get in-&-out of your boat as well as bringing your gear up to the cabin.
