Nestled in the highly desirable Historic District of West Falmouth sits this antique farmhouse. Built in 1880, it is true to its history with uneven door jambs and askew floors but is a perfect blend of old and new. It provides the perfect vacation spot for any couple or small family looking to experience the classic Cape Cod getaway. Recent updates include new paint, new carpet, new mattresses and bedding, new gas grill, fire pit, new lighting and landscaping. Sit on the front porch and take in the smell of the salty ocean air, or relax on the side porch or back deck with tranquil views of the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary.
The first floor living room and breakfast nook is sun-filled and airy. There is a gas stove for chilly nights along with Central A/C to keep you comfortable during the hottest of summer days. It is tastefully decorated and provides plenty of space for families to gather to have family meals, relax in front of the flat screen TV, or play board games. The kitchen flows right off the living room and provides everything you need to stay at home and prepare fresh meals. If you aren’t up for cooking, just follow the smell of the wood fired oven to the top-rated Chapoquoit Grill located directly across the street. The first floor also provides a cozy bedroom complete with a new queen mattress, along with an attached full bathroom. Also on the first floor is a laundry room with washer and dryer and coffee station.
As you follow the unique staircase to the second floor, you enter the second bedroom complete with two new twin beds and peaceful views of the pond right outside the window. Tucked away off the second bedroom is the third and largest of the bedrooms, complete with a new queen sized mattress, bedding, and pillows. A recently updated bathroom completes the second floor with a spacious walk in shower.
This idyllic West Falmouth gem is located 1 mile to Chapoquoit Beach or 0.5 mile to the less crowded Black Beach, simply ride or walk to either beach. Also make sure to take an evening ride or stroll to either one for spectacular sunsets. Take a quick 5-minute drive or 15-minute bike ride to the popular Old Silver Beach with white fine sand and warm waters.
You can also head out the front door and walk 0.2 mile and hop onto the Shining Sea Bike path, which is ideal for walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, or bird-watching. You can head north on the bike path and cruise past salt marshes and cranberry bogs to North Falmouth but be sure to stop at the West Falmouth Market (0.8 miles), which serves mouth-watering sandwiches and has a large assortment of fresh cut meats. You can also head south on the bike path and make the 6-mile ride into the quaint village of Woods Hole, where you can enjoy great dining or hop on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Conveniently located across the street is a Package Store to fulfill any of your wine, liquor, or beer desires.
