This adorable two-bedroom private suite was designed specifically with our guests in mind. Having been Airbnb hosts for nearly two years already, we have a pretty good idea of what travelers need and appreciate, and so we did our best to cater to these while we gave our new home a complete renovation. Some features include your own private entrance and covered porch, ample parking, organic linens, locks on both bedroom doors and complimentary coffee and tea in the mini kitchen. Also provided in the kitchen is a 4-slice toaster oven and a 1-burner induction hotplate for reheating leftovers and preparing simple meals. The private entrance can be accessed in the backyard via the footpath leading up the side of the home.
Our neighborhood is known as Kenton - a distinct part of North Portland. Kenton is one of the city's hottest, up-and-coming neighborhoods. Home sales rose by more percentage points here last year than any other location in the city, and while it is getting more popular, still retains much of the old Portland charm that draws people here. Kenton has it's own charming main street that features everything from hip restaurants, food carts, cute cafes and bakeries, to microbrew and mixology-focused watering holes, late-night bars and even a 24-hour donut shop. Just a few blocks to the west is our local green grocer, various ethnic restaurants, and a Walgreen's.
We are only a few blocks from three major bus lines (the 4, 44 and 75) that will take you downtown in about 25 minutes, the Rose Quarter in 20, North Mississippi in 15, and Saint John's in 10. The MAX line also runs very close, approximately 6 blocks away.
Our home is situated at the end of a no-through street, next door to our children's elementary Waldorf charter school. As such, we enjoy especially quiet evenings and weekends, a safe street with very little traffic, and endless opportunities to play on the playground next door.
Please note that the suite, while completely private, is attached to our own home, and shares one partial wall with it. We went the extra mile to add sound-proofing insulation to these areas before we moved in, but it is still possible you may hear some foot traffic, laundry machines or music coming from our side from time to time. We are aware of this and are conscientious about keeping noise levels down in the mornings and evenings.+ More
