Luxury camping, The Cottage has a very comfortable double bed, French doors that open onto the sunny deck and lovely garden. Comfortably accommodates two and is a 15 minute bike ride from UCB. You're welcome to use one of our bicycles. Nearby you'll find a cafe with live music nightly, restaurants, boutiques, great grocery all within easy walking distance. There's free parking on our street. Your well behaved dog or cat is welcome.
We've added something new this spring, an outdoor kitchen! There's a double propane burner and a wash up station under the Sally Holmes rose bush.
I say luxury camping because the cabin is not insulated and the bathroom is shared and inside the main house, 28 steps from the cottage. In the winter when it's raining the cottage feels damp and if it's cold outside, it's cold inside too. Unless you're a stalwart camper, this place isn't great in the rain and/or cold. Unless you really are a stalwart camper, please don't book in the winter. You'll feel cold and damp.
Spring, summer and fall are perfect; light and airy. It opens onto a deck with ample sun and shade and, in spring and summer, is fragrant with roses and lavender.
In the Fall you can wake up, step out onto the deck to stretch, open your hand and pluck a persimmon!
Your well-behaved dog is more than welcome.
1 week minimum stay.
The Cottage has a very comfy double bed, large easy chair, a bureau for clothes, lamps, a small fridge, a microwave oven, and electric tea kettle. We added an outdoor kitchen just outside the cottage this year, where you can cook over 2 gas burners. You will share the bathroom inside the house, a short walk through the garden and up the back stairs. There is WiFi and easy street parking.
Cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery store, boutiques, and a big park are a short walk away. This area of town has eccentric boutiques, local artist's collectives, cafes, bars, and restaurants. Realtors call it 'The Left Bank.' It's a 10 " walk to Berkeley Bowl West, a giant super market with all sorts of organic produce, specialty cheeses and breads (Berkeley is big on artisan breads) and asian food items. I love shopping there.+ More
